Disappointed
When I like an author I buy his or her books in hardback for my library to enjoy over and over again. I have beautiful bookcases just for them. Imagine my disappointment when I get Bloody Bones. It was hardback okay, but was something called Turtleback Library Binding and I hate it! I didn't know what this type of binding was, but it is no larger than a paperback! I will be giving it away and attempting to find it somewhere in a more typical hardback size. Will never buy this type again.

Very Good!
Bloody Bones begins with Anita having to go out of town to raise a 300-hundred year old zombie. But nothing is every simple for Ms. Blake, ever. She know must try to help the local police and FBI, who don't want her help, find a killer. And this killer is different from any monster she has seen so far. Not only that, but she also must deal with her vampire who won't stay away, but she needs his help. With all of this going on, she still has to do her job, and help the police. This book was really good. I really enjoyed this one a whole lot. And I loved that Anita spent more time with the Master Vampire of her city. I also liked learning more about the vampires in general it was really need. And we even got to learn some new things about some new types of monsters that she had to deal with. I can not wait to read more in this series!

More Depth, More Power, & More Vampire!
It did not take me long to read this succulent tale! Thank goodness Ms. Hamilton did not leave me drowning with questions, there were a lot that was answered with Anita and how her powers are growing way beyond comprehension, her softening heart between her wolfe and vampire lovers, and the deeper cognizance into the pasts of both Anita and Jean-Claude.Bloody Bones starts with her being outsourced to Branson to raise notably aged dead in order to learn the rightful owner of the land to which an exorbitant construction is to take place. While in Branson, the Spook Squad loans her out to the local detectives when several teenagers have been brutally slaughtered. Anita feels that there may be some connection with the faerie owned land, the dead to be raised, and the murders. Later, she realizes her biggest challenge is not only a sword wielding creature and an arduous fey monster, but an omnipotent vampire that also realizes the potential of Anita's necromancy. In order to get answers, Anita calls upon her sexy vampire lover, Jean-Claude. During Jean-Claude's stay to help his "ma petite" we learn about his and Anita's grief-stricken past, although very different history's, Anita discerns that they share a common ground and maybe, just maybe, Jean-Claude has a heart and soul and a passion that can be truer than any other. Letting her inhibitions go for one second, and we get to see how much she lusts or even loves her libidinous blood sucker. Yum Yum Yum!

One word amazing!!!!
I love this series!!!! I love Anita she is freaking awesome! She is literally a badass and knows it!! I cannot stop reading!! The character development is spectacular and in this book I loved how Anita's relationship with Jean - claude grew quite a bit to the point where you truly realized how much he means to her. I will say this though I love Richard but he cannot handle Anita. She is strong, ruthless, powerful, loyal, brutally honest, caring, and protective but most of all she is a survivor! In my opinion she needs someone who understands and excepts all of her even the monstrous sides of her. We will see I guess. I'm so excited to continue reading these books are phenomenal!!!!

Bloody Bones (Anita Blake Vampire Hunter) Book 5
This is about the time in the series that things really start to get wierd. It is still a good story though as Anita and her apprentice take a trip. Anita learns somethings about herself and her abilities that begin to scare her. It is worth the read and leads into the next book in the series. I already own the book in paperback and wanted to buy it hardbound as I have bought the last 7 books that way. I am looking forward to getting the next book in the series- Harlequin. If you don't mind some erotic scenes and weird otherworld stuff than this is a book (in a series) that I would recommend. It's not your everyday Buffy kind of book. It's better.I love this series of books. Both my Daughter and I have read the whole series together. I went to the book store to find something to read and the guy in the store said "If you are looking for a good book try this one". He handed me "Guilty Pleasures" (the first book in the series) and I was back the next day for every thing else in the series that was on the shelf. I lent them to my Daughter and she was the same way. She came over and asked me for the next book.

Wow, wow!
This literary series need to be a series on televsion! I have some issues with the overtly detailed descriptive telling of the story, but truthfully it allows for mental visualization, which lead to intrigue! I am always enthralled and am now hooked! Looking forward to the next book. Jean Claud a ?, Anita Blake an even bigger one!? Looking forward to who the really are seperately and what they are together!

Title!
Bought this e-book because my mom apparently borrowed my actual copy and I was re-reading the entire series, and didn't want to wait till I could get it back.I'm okay with e-books for the most part, they're usually cheaper (I stress "usually") than the actual book is, and they just appear on my kindle. Poof. (I like to feel like a wizard on occasion.)The book itself is always a good read, Anita has to go out of town on zombie business, and takes Larry with her. Naturally, intrigue ensues. Cue mayhem, magical critters and death as per usual. My only issue is that there are some misspellings in the ebooks, but that's just a personal pet peeve for me.

Number 5 and still going strong!
Usually by the fifth instalment in a book series things get a bit same-same and become dull... that is certainly not the case with the Anita Blake series! I loved book 5 just as much as i loved book 1! Hamilton keeps the story exciting and thrilling by taking the protagonist out of town and on a case somewhere else. In this book, we're introduced to the existence of the fey and it was nice to hear about folklore from other countries. At this point, i'm convinced that Hamilton is a genius as she keeps introducing creatures that are completely original in this genre and making them work. It's no different in this book when we come face to face with a very old Irish monster, one that is so unknown that as someone with Irish family, i had never even heard of! I particularly liked this book because as a Jean-Claude fan, we got to see the chemistry and tension between him and Anita reach a new level... one that made me all hot and bothered!Although there is a love triangle in this series, a plot device that is so overused it physically hurts, Hamilton has made it meaningful and new in the way that each love interest represents a part of Anita and there for gives a solid representation of the sides of her that are battling within her; Richard is the softer, ordinary side of her that yearns for a normal life and Jean-Claude is the darker side, the side that messes with monsters and kills to survive without guilt.

Seriously Wow! Anita Blake Heart thriller!
Another Total Silver Bullet to the Heart and Head Read from this Magnificent Author. I really think this Anita Blake Series engages both brain and heart and thrilling action with Cold precise logic. Every book opens new doors into a world of Preternatural, Zombies, Power Struggles and as Scary Anitas Love Life and Working Environments. Anita is absolutely captivating both for her flaws and her choices. This book takes Anita on a journey into new horrors and twists and keeps tension high with juggled desires. Lifes to protect but at what cost? And Vitally how committed to your beliefs its possible to stubbornly cling to when life is a group of supernatural forces clawing to tear you into the dark. Definitely reccomend reading. Utter book bliss.

Highly recommended for the open minded monster lover
Book lovers of strong, independent woman with serious sarcastic streak. Strong monsters and bad guys that you need a bigger badder monster to take them out. It's well written. Characters are easy to enjoy and like or even hate. I really enjoy the Anita Blake verse. The monsters are gruesome and new. The unpredictability of the story makes it worth the read.

Come morning, some of us would be alive and some of us wouldn't....
Book five in the Anita Blake series. There are ten discs altogether.Anita goes to Branson on a dodgy necromancer job, aren't they all? The plot & sub-plots are superb, the character interactions are intense and undiluted in their telling. Dolph asks for her expertise in some violent deaths, there's powerful vampires, emotion feeding fae and rotting corpses.Read by Kimberly Alexis aka Laurell K Hamilton, Again I was impressed, there's nothing nasel about her accent. Her intonation is clear, different character voices are individual, she tells the story only like an author can because it's her creation, she tells the tale with expression & emotion. There's also atmospheric music & sound effects in the pertinant parts which some other audio books do not have. This only adds to the experience.Very happy looking forward to the next audio book which is The Killing Dance....

Brilliant!
For the first book I've ever bought off Amazon, Bloody Bones had a lot to live up to, and I wasn't dissapointed! It was more then I thought it was going to be, the summary had confused me a lot but it was nice to see Anita go out of town and to battle a new Master. It also showed me a terrifying side to Anita and I think Larry really grew up in this book. I loved finding out more about Jean-Claude in the bathtub scene. It just added a vulnerability to him I'd never thought of before.Overall I truly loved this book and was surprised at the lack of physical involvement on Dolph's part. I was also surprised at the villain in the book, but Laurell always manages to surprise me.
