Fantastic Adventure
I saw this movie as a child on summer break and it has stayed with me for over 40 years. I don’t know why it never achieved more attention because it deserves a lot! Fantastic story, action, and cinematography. DVD quality is beautiful on Hi Definition televisions as well.

ww i eagle has landed.
I remember seeing this once on TV. Basically, I would compare this to "The Guns of Navarone and the "Eagle has Landed" the WW I version.

Zeppelin
It was a fairly good film. How our hero gets to go to Germany is a little weak. The radio room is a little hard to believeBut, all in all it’s very watchable.

Excellent effects and great period costumes
I loved seeing this movie again and forgot how good a lot of it is. Yes, it has some slow spots. But it is one of the few movies on WW I that covers Zeppelins, and the only one on the raids over England during the war. The story is sort of a forerunner of The Eagle Has Landed movie, with a secret German raid on an English location using specially trained German army commandos. But this is WW I so it's really interesting seeing this all set during that earlier conflict. Given the age of the film, the special effects really hold up and are just a wonder to watch even today. No CGI here, and the models are huge and real. And seeing the period costumes and uniforms really added to the viewing. This one is another keeper if you like adventure with your history. And for me, it was a lot better than the later disaster flick The Hindenburg.

Review without Spoilers - Pros & Cons
Zeppelin (1971) is a British WWI action-drama directed by Étienne Périer in Panavision & Technicolor. The film stars Michael York, Elke Sommer, & Anton Diffring. Zeppelin depicts a fictitious German attempt to raid a Scottish castle in a giant Zeppelin to steal or destroy cultural treasures to destroy British morale. Here are the pros and cons of this film as I see it, I hope this helps you.Pros:1. Considering it was made in 1970, the special effects and models are actually very well done for the time2. Overall good acting and was happy to have Michael York in it, although I always want him to say "Run Runner" in every film he is in3. An overall interesting story line considering it is another early 1970's war movieCons:1. Elke Sommer's character Erika Altschul does not show much emotion, which is fine if they had given the audience a hint as to why she was that way, otherwise she should have acted more upset in certain situations in the film

Giant in the Clouds.
This action-adventure flick is a mixed blessing. Michael York is more awkward than heroic as a reluctant WWI spy, who is afraid of heights. Naturally, the British send him on a mission that involves a zeppelin that flies at 15,000 feet. His inexperience at espionage leads to clumsy attempts at humor. The comic book plot is of the newly developed super zeppelin, LZ36. The Germans fly the great airship on a daring mission to remote Scotland to capture the British archives, including the Magna Carta itself. The movie's virtues are the airborne photography and the special effects. The realization of a WWI zeppelin is a triumph of non-computerized visual display. The aerial combat scenes of WWI era planes attacking the zeppelin are exciting, and should please aviation history buffs. The blood and thunder of the attack on the castle that houses the archives will satisfy action fans. Casting the delectable Elke Sommer may have been commercially viable, but her role as a zeppelin engineer married to an older, absent-minded professor is not a good fit. Her interactions with York are dull rather than provocative. Covering her curves with a bulky flying suit was poor use of her natural talents. Zeppelins and vintage aircraft are fine. In that light, the movie is worth the price.;-)

Fun little movie
I have been looking for this movie for a long time. Saw it in the theaters. Still very good to watch today. It is a WB Archives DVD so it is not enhanced in anyway and that is expected. Video quality and sound are good.Well worth a viewing. Great price as WB Archive DVDs were very expensive in Canada.
