Make sure you undo the velcro tabs at top, I almost ripped the thing trying to flatten the bottom. Otherwise, assembly takes 5 seconds, and it's quite sturdy for something made of kraft paper. Comes with a second scratchpad. Edges are stitched (or appears to be), which adds to the sense of sturdiness compared to just a glued product.

I have 2 cats, and one of them didn't really care for this but the other one practically lives in it. The first cat doesn't really like spaces with only one exit, so she was never going to like this one. My other cat just about ran for it the second I put it down. He goes in there to scratch, hide, sleep, and pounce on his sister by jumping through the top. He just forces the top open as they are in place by Velcro. The scratching board inside is a standard size it would seem. I have a bunch of these for another scratching pad they have. The sides look like paper in the picture, but are actually a treated cardboard that feels more like cloth than cardboard. It is flexible and soft, but still stands on its own.At this point they have had this thing for over a month and boy has it seen some abuse! The crazy one will run around the room and then right into this thing at top speed knocking it over and a few feet back. Sometimes he just straight-up jumps on it. The sides are bent in all different directions, and I have replaced the scratching pad once. Keeping that all in mind, it still stands up on its own and looks nice in the living room. He still loves it and goes in there for scratching and just about everything else. I have picked this thing up about a million and one times just so he can knock it back down in 3 seconds. It stays upright every single time. I curled the top back a little so it looks more like a bag of food. I personally think it is cuter that way. Other than that the thing has withstood all the abuse just fine. If this crazy cat manages to destroy this thing one day I will buy another to replace it. Worth the cost in my opinion. I am sure my cat would agree if he could talk, but if he could I am sure he would still walk away and not answer me out of spite...

I, of course, had to get this because it was simply adorable and what cat doesn't love paper bags? We have two cats and they were both nuts about it when we first introduced it to them, that they fought each other for their turn inside the house, it was great. We really thought we hit it off with such a simple design. These cats also love cardboard scratchers too, but all of a sudden they both could care less about it. It now just gets overlook and unused even with play time and catnip. I'm glad this came with an extra scratcher. We left that out and now that's their favorite thing ever. It even gets more uses than the house does lol. You win some, you lose some. I would still recommend this as it's too cute, you get an extra scratcher pad and A cat out there is bound to love this.

Three cats have ignored this super cute and simple scratcher. The cats here love paper bags.. and carboard scratchers so this should have been a hit. I humanly thing its cute and simple to set up with a spare scratching board. I guess it was too good?

I got this Cat House with a cute design, and it's adorable. However, my 13-pound cat won't go in it for some reason! I'm crossing my fingers that with time, he'll change his mind because I really love the quirky design. The cat bed comes with 2 scratchers, which is a bonus. Even though my big cat hasn't shown interest yet, I think it's a cool hideout house for smaller pets like cats, rabbits, or hamsters. Overall, it's a cute addition to the pet corner, and I'm hopeful my cat will warm up to it eventually.

This is the best quality "paper" bag I've ever had--which of course means my cat doesn't like it. Although I'm exasperated by my cat's fickleness, this hideout really lives up to the seller's claims.It feels like a blend of fabric and paper, so it's very sturdy. It stands on its own and does not collapse easily. It comes with 2 scratch boards, one for the inside and a replacement. There's also a mini teaser sewn on the inside of the bag.I've spilt water on this a couple of times now, since it's kept in my kitchen. There's no warping or water stains on the bag, which I am very pleased with!Although MY cat doesn't like it, I love it. I'll likely end up gifting it to another of my cat friends, as a lasting bag like this is exactly what a furry friend needs.

Fukumaru has been seriously impressing me with the quality of product we get from them, but this one falls a tad short. although its portable, cute, and well built, its pretty small, to the point where if our cat whos about a year old wants to use the scratcher inside, she cant turn around or really stand up fully. its a cute bed, but anything other than lounging, our cat will just scratch her claws on the tree.
