Firstly this uplighter does actually work. Stick a GU10 bulb in plug it into the socket and yea you have light.But this is where my issues start.Advert vs Reality.In the text for the product it says the shade is aluminium - it’s actually plastic.In the text for the lamp it says it has a remote in the box - actually no remote.The pictures show it used as a downlighter but to do that the socket itself would have to be mounted upside down.There are probably more errors but you get the picture.For me it’s ok, I’m not sure how long it will last as the shade/lampholder are only glued to the switch body. Also in the uk normally all but kitchen sockets tend to be very low level so the light unless put out of the way can actually be blinding and with small kids could actually be a risk.Hey it’s only just over a tenner but a lot to consider before shelling even that out.

Great little up light for your 3 pin socket, the build quality seems good with what seems to be a nice hard plastic housing.I have mine in the kitchen to save having all the other lights on which in turn will help with the electricity bill. I have put in a standard GU10 LED bulb, it gives out plenty of light without blinding you. It gives the right balance of light for me with the convenient of being able to move the light from room to room.

This light was a huge disappointment. It’s nothing at all like the depictions in the descriptive photos. On the advert it shows numerous examples of it’s use as a downlighter which makes you believe the light is switchable from pointing up to pointing down. It doesn’t – up only. The plastic is thin & cheap & you have to provide your own lightbulb.As I specifically ordered this to point down it really peeves me to find that it only points up. Despite saying it has no need of cables because it’s a plug in the additional info states it comes with a cable & remote control. Of course it doesn’t. It hardly inspires confidence in anything else the seller has to say about their product.The box it came in was flimsy & it looked like it had been bought & returned. I can understand why, it’s a piece of useless junk. You’ll have to refer to the advert to remind yourself what kind of lightbulb you need because there are no additional instructions with it.Rubbish.

The LUSTALED GU10 Spotlight Uplighter adapter is fully assembled one unit. The three-pin plug fitting is fixed in position. I say this because you might think that the product description suggests the uplighter is 'moveable' - maybe even as a downlighter? Well if you are using standard UK wall plug sockets that's going to be difficult to achieve. I think that the manufacturer means its 'moveable' to a different wall socket which is fair enough. However, the product clearly IS described as an uplighter so why presume anything more?When I initially examined the LUSTALED fitting I wasn't overly excited about the quality. It just seemed rather cheaply made but actually I found it more than good enough for the intended purpose. The lampshade part is nicely shaped and looks modern. The 'plug' part is compact and it conveniently has an ON/OFF switch mounted on the front.The design of the lampshade and fixed plug part is made in a fashion that means it's unlikely to interfere with any adjacent plug socket there might be (such as is found on a typical double wall plug socket fitting). There doesn't seem any way to get at an internal fuse so I assume that there isn't a fitted fuse? There's no printing on any part of the fitting, and normally where a 3-pin plug is involved, I would expect to see printed/embossed information such as CE marks, BS markings, whether there's a fuse installed etc.I popped in a colour changing LED GU10 bulb and thought that the uplighting effect was very pleasing - it's just a case of finding a suitably placed wall socket where the lighting might look most effective.Overall I quite like this product. The price isn't too bad for a one-piece customised lighting fitting. I would have liked some minor improvements in the design but nevertheless I feel that the LUSTALED will definitely find a wall socket in our house that will show off its uplighting properties.

This is a very lightweight plugin type adapter socket for G10 light. It doesn't come with a bulb but is simple to start using straight away.

Fonctionne parfaitement avec ma lampe à lave Mathmos, même mieux que l’originale… et il y en a 6 pour le prix d’une vendue par le fournisseur…
