Sunlu Filadryer S2 vs Creality Space Pi (new 2024 models)
The media could not be loaded. Full disclaimer, I bought both of these with my own money. The sunlu had raving reviews and the creality had no reviews at the time of my purchase. I decided to compare these since I could not find someone else who did it. I was going to build one but for ~$50-60 I thought it was not worth my time to make one DIY.Power cords:creality uses standard 120V slim ac power plug (148W), same as playstation/TV/other small electronicsSunlu uses 24V 2A power brick with barrel plug (48W). This is unacceptable in 2024, either use standard AC power adapters or USB-C Power-DeliveryThe biggest complaint about the sunlu is the fact that the charger is from the rear of the dryer on the long side (since the LCD is on the other) this means that you cannot lay it up against a wall because the cord gets in the way. It also falls over very easily. The creality does not.Heat/drying ability:creality is much more capable outputting heat, as it draws 148W maximum, tripling the heating ability of the sunlu at 48W maximum. this translates to filament drying faster in the creality, the sunlu stays barely warm while the creality is hot to touch (but not uncomfortably hot). The sunlu has a max runtime of only 6 hours (creality 48 hours) which sucks for wet filament since it can take well over 12 hours to fully dry. In fact, I once woke up with my filament more wet in the morning than it was at night because it had shut off and I left my window open. This being said, I do not like that both are only suspended on ball bearing rollers, I felt that the creality was a little uneven heating the bottom rear side of the filament more than the rest, with the front side of the fillament (facing the panel) staying the coolest. this can easily be fixed by adding a motor to rotate the filament like a rotisserie chicken, I am not sure why no one uses that idea yet, I will likely modify my creality to do this using a microwave oven plate motor.Noise:Creality has a kinda annoying hum from the fan. It is much quieter than my printer but definitely audible and annoying if in the same room. I will likely replace it with a silent fan.the Sunlu is quiet.Screen:Sunlu screen is turned on by double tapping, it uses an LCD panel with a manual LED backlight. Light turns off automatically after a a minute by default which really bothers me as it sits under my dark desk so I have to keep tapping it to turn on. Even after setting LED-ON, the backlit panel turns off after a few minutes and the led-ring stays on.Creality screen is turned on by pressing and holding for about two seconds (light pressure). It stays on until you turn it off and is a modern looking color lcd-panel. I like this panel better, i think it is better looking and more responsive, although i wish it had an AMOLED or OLED.Lid:both feature clamshell designed lids, however the creality lid is a better fit and has no holes in it.The sunlu has two holes in the lid. It sometimes closes without fitting into the lower piece so you have to mess with it so it closes properly.both lack a gasket for sealing so I would not expect either of them to function well for long term filament storage, although the sunlu would fair worse with the more-poorly fitting enclosure and two unsealed ports on the lid.Price:I bought both on sale, it was about $55 for the sunlu and $60 for the creality so the price at the time was about the same, even if it was $10-15 more it would be worth getting the creality. If the creality had a gasket around the shell, an optional motorized roller, had a larger space inside (for 5KG spools), space for desiccant, an automated feed system (such as bambulab AMS) and AMOLED/OLED panel, this would easily be the best filament dryer ever made. Especially with a glass/metal body and cover I would easily pay over two hundred dollars for it.Returning the sunlu. Keeping the creality. Thanks for reading.

Works well to revive my old PLA
Bought a Prusa Core One and wanted to do some testing with some old PLA. Learned that my PLA needed drying out after it failed, breaking off and generally brittle. Bought this Creality unit and gave it a try. Followed the guide that came with the unit and now my old spools of PLA are working fine. Smart buy for my hobby. Filament tends to stack up. Very pleased with the results and wish I had bought one sooner.

Excellent Quality But Blue Much Darker Than Picture
I'd give it 5 stars because the print quality is excellent, but the picture is too misleading. I realize the picture can be a bit different than the real shade, but in this case it's much different. Their picture shows the blue being much lighter than it actually is. When you print, it comes out very dark blue! This should not be labeled as blue, but rather dark blue. Just know this is dark, but the quality is excellent!

Really good for the price if you need 70C heating capability.
The first one that I received had a cracked screen, but gor a replacement and started using it. Works great, it says up to 70c, my thermometer says 69-71. The hygrometer is off from mine by about 1-2 percent, but that's perfectly acceptable in my opinion. Screen is a little slow and not very responsive to the touch, but not bad. There are preset temperatures for different filaments, and adjusting the temp and time is very easy. Honestly other than the broken one I received first I don't have any real complaints other than the location of the filament hole. There should definitely be more than one hole for convenience sake but for the price, I really can't be mad.

Great value for the price.
This dryer is a great value for the price. Always does a good job with my filament.

Great Looking and Working Filament Dryer
I purchased this filament dryer after a fair amount of research. It is my first filament dryer as I had some filament types that are prone to getting "wet". I did have one issue with it when I first received it but the customer service was outstanding and I believe I got the replacement the next day(may have been the day after that. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about it after working with it the last few weeks. My only regret is that I didn't buy the bigger one instead!!

Quickest way to improve print quality
Im glad I finally got a drier. The improvement in print quality is immediately noticeable. This is probably the quickest way to improve your print quality. Eliminated stringing/spider webbing completely. My supports finally break off cleanly. It has presets for common filaments and you can adjust the temperature to what you like up to about 160°C. Max run timer is 48hrs I believe. Took me a little bit to get it feeding properly into my extruder, but once you figure that out, you're good to go. To touch screen is a little finicky and the rollers could be a little smoother, but those are my only real complaints.

Better be handy with a Dremel
I really wanted to get behind this filament dryer. Three main issues keep me from doing that. The fan bearings went out after a of couple weeks of not using it very often. And the temps aren't accurate and run hotter than the setting by as much as 20 percent. This can possibly could ruin filament so be careful. After getting the run around on a replacement I had to get Amazon involved again. They finally sent a replacement, but not what I was told. Not the entire filament dryer as promised. It finally shipped from China after contacting them three different times. When it arrived I thought someone shipped me something by mistake. I was surprised to see it was only a fan. This dryer is not meant to be serviceable. The front touch screen is glued to the bottom cover. The only choice is to cut the cover so I did it with a Dremel as you can see in the picture. Plus you have to peel the rubber pads off the bottom to get to the screws. I had to glue them back on. No instructions were sent and nothing on YouTube. The fan plug is glued to the socket and almost impossible to remove. The location of the plug difficult to reach as well. I was able to get it back together and it works, for now. I do not have confidence this fan will last any longer. I can't recommend this dryer so buy at your own risk.
