[PK] Fried Seaweed Snack 110g x 16pack / PK 김부각 스낵/Crispy and Natural Salty Taste/Korean Snack/Perfect for Movice, Picnic Food, Kids snack

These taste excellent, but some of the ingredients cannot be found to research, which is concerning. I was really impressed with the nutritional facts in regards to how high protein/high carb the snack is. I’m working on weight gain and it’s difficult to find nutritionally dense snacks like this. If the ingredients weren’t so concerning, I would buy this stuff by the pallet.

I had to post a review of this since I had such a terrible reaction. I was considering going to the hospital last night after eating this. My mouth and throat are still tingling.. the snack has a nice texture, but that is all I can say that is good about this. Be warned, it contains umami flavor enhancer, aminobase, and something called Prodex t-43 (wtf?). I googled the Prodex t-43 ingredient, which brought me here. That doesn't tell me what I ate and triggered multi systemic allergic reaction. This label also boasts a hefty contaminant warning for lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury. yikes! I should have read more closely. It turns out the umami enhancer is an MSG replacer derived from shiitake, which is likely chemically similar to MSG without the sodium. I couldn't find the aminobase online, but it sounds like it may be glutamic acid, again chemically similar to MSG. The flavor of this product lingered in my mouth for a long time, just like MSG does, but it caused me a lot more symptoms. Internet search indicates this I'll take the salt next time, hold the bizarre additives please.
