Review ‘I enjoyed it enormously. It is a fantasy, full of the magic of the Celtic night, but it has that wonderful all-important feel of reality… a wonderful, riveting story’ Barbara Erskine‘This hugely enjoyable, romantic Celtic fantasy is a terrific book, well written and unputdownable’ Bookwatch‘Filled with the powers of earth and sky, lake and forest… sweet and strong as the note of a harp, and painful as a sword thrust deep… a strong sense of realism… a nicely wrought and well-detailed historical fantasy’ Locus Synopsis The forests of Sevenwaters have cast their spell over Sorcha's daughter Liadan, who, like her mother, has inherited the talent to heal and to see into the spirit world. Can Liadan defy the spirits, or will a curse fall upon Sevenwaters because of her forbidden love for The Painted Man? See all Product description

Delightful series
Juliet Marillier is a new author for me and I am loving this Sevenwaters series. It is well written and has "translated" well to Kindle. A strong storyline runs through the series and there is a very believable and likeable set of characters. Each book as far as I have read concentrates on the next generation of the family in one way or another. This keeps earlier "friends" we have made visible and we learn more of their fates as we read. The story itself is well imagined, well described and gripping to read. I am delighted to find that Juliet has written several other series...I shall be kept occupied for some time yet.

Juliet Marillier is my favourite writer nowadays. She has a way of building up the story around strong female characters towards the climax that just keeps you glued to the pages of her books. I absolutely love all her books, this one included.

I absolutely loved this book
I absolutely loved this book. When I read Daughter of the Forrest I fell in love with this epic love of Sorcha and Red and, having read the write up of Son of the Shadows I was dreading Sorcha's death. And it was worse then I thought.....I cried so much (still choke up). However the love story of Liadan and Bran was written so well that it reasonated deeply within my heart. What a beautiful tale. Thank goodness for kindle so I can mark some of their scenes and reread at my leisure. Loved this tale and have just started the third book of the trilogy.

Another great read, I seem to get to the stage in Juliet's books where I just cant put them down. I am off now to get the next in the series, her books are wonderful. I cant imagine any fan of fantasy romance not loving this series!

Another great read
Another great story by this Author. I enjoyed it as much as book 1, maybe a little more to be honest. It is beautifully written and the characters are charismatic. A compelling read. I found it hard to put my Kindle off. I am just starting on the next book Child of the Prophecy and hoping it's as good as books 1 and 2.

Another amazing book
After reading the first book i didn't think I would get so emotionally invested in another character after reading Sorcha's story. However I was so wrong. Liadan is different to her mother but still an incredibly strong character and her story kept me as hooked (if not more) as book one.

very enjoyable - best book out of the lot
the best book out of the series - after this book the series becomes a farce. The author forgets that she's in medieval times and goes all weird.
