These pencils are so smooth that you can almost feel the graphite flowing onto the paper! I am very satisfied and would recommend these pencils for drawing.

This review pertains to the Kimberly Graphite Pencil - 4B.This is a rather soft graphite pencil and is one of my favorites. I purchase these things by the box (12 per box) and find, that for the money, they are the best as to meeting my needs. The graphite goes on quite smooth and has that `soft' feeling to it. It is easy to manage heavy to light or light to heavy. They act more like charcoal than many of this sort of pencil but you do not have the mess. They sharpen well using either a pencil sharpener or blade. I use these for general sketching and often times even for the finished drawing. I must admit that some brands, Derwent comes to mind, are slightly superior in many ways but then again you are paying a premium price...not something I am willing to do for general sketching.Unless I go complete gorilla, the points stay well and there is little breakage during use or while sharpening.I am quite happy with these pencils and have been for a number of years now. I purchase these at a local art store and the cost here (If you don't count the shipping) is quite competitive. As our independent and comprehensive art stores in our area continue to go belly up at an alarming rate, I may be forced, in time, to order from Amazon...thank goodness I will still have a source.This is an excellent product and I have been quite happy with it and other Kimberly pencils.Don BlankenshipThe Ozarks
