Great CD will probably make further purchases of their material
Found out about this band in the Foo Fighters Sonic Highway series on Netflix New Orleans episode and it turned out I had an "earworm" of a riff of one of their recordings called Cissy Strut. Great CD will probably make further purchases of their material. I also came across "Trombone Shorty" in the same episode you should check him out too, brilliant.

Ease back...
A blast of instromental pre-funk (though it is funky) from '69 based around some solid guitar riffing and some Booker T esque organ. The beats laid down by drummer Joseph Modeliste perhaps the most impressive aspect of this tight four-piece's jamming. They certainly have their own groove. Ease back and enjoy.

Very clean pressing
Just wanted to let you know this is a pretty darn good pressing. Sound is clean with no hisses and pops using Ortofon 2M Bronze stylus and cartridge. Great album!

9-9!!
I bought this disc solely based on a recommendation by Jason Mantzoukas (the actor who plays Pimento on Brooklyn 99). He was not wrong. This album is incredible. If you like music, you'll like this.

This is no Struttin
I didn't know this is a Music On Vinyl pressing until it arrives, I reckon Amazon also didn't. Sound wise, it is a mixed bag. Some good, some average but overall, I was somewhat disappointed because I was looking for more Struttin. I do not have another pressing of this so I can't say this is due to the source or due to the mastering/pressing. But if you do own The Meters before and want just one or try one, this is not it. Get the Struttin (mastered by Kevin Gray) instead.
