JL Audio TR650-CSi 6-1/2" Evolution TR Series 2-way Component Speakers System (Pair)

I got these to replace my factory speakers in my 2008 Honda Accord coupe with the premium sound. They are more clear, but don't let the 270 watt claim fool you. These have lower wattage requirements than other upgrades (and other JL's) but still sound better with an amp. The factory speakers off the head unit weren't as clear but had better mid base and I think volume. Once amped, they came alive! They aren't gonna scream like higher models but they are where I wanted speakers to be. I had Kickers (DS 6.5" I think) in my 2007 Toyota off factory deck and they sounded great without an amp and a Bazooka topped them off. I might have been okay with DS Kickers again and not needed an amp, but these JL's with an amp I already was gonna get for my 12" Kicker Comps...this is good stuff! You can't ever go wrong with JL. Some reviews said they used as factory replacements, maybe my other car was different (tho rated less watts) but I had to amp these (and yes, they have a capasitor on them). Price wasn't bad for JL's.

Sould quality is really good for the price. They are not high end speakers, so dont expect them to sound like $600 Focals, or like the upper end of the JLs.I have them hooked up to a new Kenwood head unit that puts out 50w per channel. I do not have an additional amp. They have clear highs and mids. Very little base, but again, no amp and in the door, not a box.

I was bummed to find that these components did not come with an actual crossover as earlier iterations had. There is only an inline signal blocker for the tweeter. However my initial disappointment was quickly earased after install as these proved to be another quality product by JL audio.I'm running a JVC 50bt head unit with slash v2 300/4 amplifier with these speakers and they sound amazing.

Its a really good entry level set. It does everything pretty well, which is all you can ask for in an entry level component set.It has a smooth blend between the mid and tweet. The mids are occasionally a little muddy, but thats expected at this price range.In this price range I'd have no problem putting them in my next car as well.

I'm always impressed with JL Audio's products & these 6.5's are no different. I'm running them on a Kenwood deck with no external amp & they have a very balanced & full bodied sound. I'm also running two JL Audio 12's which helps fill in the lows. Bass drums are punchy but deep lows at high volume levels they start to distort. (obviously a 6.5 speaker can only produce so much bass) Make the proper EQ adjustments & they'll make your ears hurt! Another high quality product from JL Audio at a reasonable price. You'll be glad you picked up a set.

First things first, these aren't super high-end high powered speakers. They're several grades above your $20 wal-mart special and just about perfect for most folks looking for better than average sound. Install is the same difficulty as any other set of components with the benefit of not needing to mount a large crossover box. For this setup, there is a simple high-pass filter inline on the tweeter wire. Simple, functional, easy to install. Sound quality is great, and I am *very* fond of the classic looking speaker grilles.

I had them in my car for two weeks and sent them back. They sounded no better than the $50 Kenwoods that I had prior to these. The clarity was subpar and I expected better from JL. I'm going Polk Audio MM or Alpine Type R.

These sound great! I bought them for the Harley. They don't drop right in so to speak. Had to use an adaptor and a spacer. Part of that is that these are not designed to be a bottom mount speaker. I should have checked that out to begin with. If you have a top mount application and want speakers that sound fantastic these will do it.
