Anamorphic flares at an affordable price
The effect is pretty cool, and it gives you that anamorphic look to light flares. Looks awesome on automotive headlights and street lighting at night. Build quality is nice and the threads are smooth. Price isn't bad either. If you're looking for a cool filter for automotive photography, this is a good one to check out.

Fun filter…
Nice quality, easy to use, and adjust filter.I took it into music venue / club environment, and had fun seeing how many of the overhead and stage lights it would pick up, and what it would do with them. Some of my results have a hint of texture to them as I’m using a step down ring from a 77mm lens to a 72 mm filter… but I enjoy the results I’m getting.

cool effects filter for lens flares
Usually, lens flares aren't all that desirable. Still, in the right circumstances, they can add interest and life to your photos. You want them controlled, though, and that's what this filter does. The filter seems well-built. Unlike the blue-streak filter that I purchased from another brand, the glass is tightly place within the filter rings and doesn't rattle. Movement for turning the filter is smooth.I admit to having some hesitation over aluminum filter rings, as they can have trouble with binding, but so far it hasn't been an issue with this one. I keep a filter wrench in my bag just in case. One thing that I will note... I can't tell if the glass is tinted a bit yellow, or if that's just an optical illusion caused by the yellow lines. It doesn't seem to particularly affect my photos (I keep my camera in auto white balance, so maybe that's kicking in to account for it). Anyway, you can always adjust your white balance in post to account for it if necessary, so I don't think it's a big deal.Generally, for filters that I use regularly, I'm a strong advocate for spending a bit more to get good quality. You don't want to throw cheap glass in front of your expensive lens. For an occasional-use filter like this one, though, it's hard to justify spending a lot. This one seems to be of good quality for the price.Overall, I'm happy with this filter. It's not something that you'll want to use all the time (the effect can easily end up over-done), but for those occasions when you need it, it's great.

A decent special effect filter, quality engineering
My experience with Walkingway filters has been pretty positive, and this one is no exception. It has a precision ring, and quality glass. I would typically save an effect like this for post processing, but this has a analog look to it that I would think would be difficult to replicate. The streaks are thicker as the lights become stronger, as you can see in both photos. One was taken at lights far away (sorry for the hand shake). The other at light close up. You can also rotate the filter on its ring to rotate the streaks in any direction you choose. Its a nice effect at a great price. Recommended.

Interesting way to get a easy lens flair effect
The star effect filters have gotten common I don't think people appreciate them like they used to. I like the streak filter it has a nice easy lens flair effect that isn't so common yet. (Well J.J. Abrams did get carried away with lens flair's.) I do like being able to add a bit of flair in photos without using a photo editor or paying for a add-on. Anything else I could add to my review would be repeating what is already in the ad.I hope that my review is helpful.

Adds a modest touch of flare without going overboard!
I got my best results from this gold streak filter during a daytime shoot with natural light. I don't recommend this for interiors with artificial lighting because the flare doesn't look quite right. Outdoors is the best place to use these, preferably closer to sunset, but not sunrise. The filter gives me a small amount of flare without going overboard and compliments shiny objects like cars or buildings. I'd recommend this filter for people who aren't fully comfortable with adding flare using software, and would rather use a simpler method to achieve a really good look.

Very fun creative tool for the money.
This is my fourth or fifth lens filter from Walking Way and I have yet to be disappointed in the quality. If you're looking to dabble in the "anamorphic look" for your videos, but don't feel like shelling out thousands of dollars for custom lenses or messing with a complicated two-lens setup, this thing is really hard to argue with for thirty bucks. It gives you the most visually obvious visual artifact of an anamorphic setup (pulling out bright light sources into "streaks") with the ease of a screw-on filter, plus the ability to adjust the angle (which a real anamorphic setup cannot do).The materials and construction here are top notch. It screwed smoothly onto my Tamron zoom, and the adjustment ring turns smoothly and easily with the touch of a finger. It worked equally well at every length of my zoom range, with no difference or drop-off in quality. Autofocus was unaffected.I will say, the gold "threads" in the glass are quite large/thick, and I found the effect to be rather pronounced... this is *not* a subtle effect. If they offered this same filter in "half strength" I would purchase it as well... although I don't know how they would do that... thinner gold "threads" perhaps? This is absolutely a "special use" filter, and I imagine I'd only want to use it for a very specific creative effect on certain shots. If used constantly it could easily become annoying or distracting. But for $30, it's a very cool trick that might just give that one shot the truly unique effect you've been looking for.

cooler effekt
