I bought these French Cleats to hold up a rack.The rack is for daily use and it holds up fine. I will also use them for hanging decorative items.

I recently ordered a large mirror that came with mounting holes in the metal frame rather than built-in French Cleats. These will be more secure (4 screws into the drywall versus only 2) and allow for a little bit of side to side play for easier centering over a vanity. Plus putting up the mirror or taking it down will be much easier than trying to perfectly line up the two small holes in the frame. The necessary screws and drywall anchors are included, though I'll use sheet metal screws for the frame instead of the small wood screws provided. A small bubble level is included if you don't already have one. The metal is sturdy enough for my project, though you might want something larger and beefier if hanging larger heavier items like a kitchen cabinet (which should be screwed into studs).

I used these to hang a floating headboard. It took a little finagling to get them lined up just right, but it wasn’t too difficult. The result was perfect.
