Chinese Breeze is a fun and engaging series of intermediate level Chinese reading books for language students. The grammar and vocabulary is simple enough that intermediate readers can smoothly follow and enjoy the stories. The stories themselves are diverse -- with modern romance and intrigue, to historical tales, to touching family stories. I think this a good series, and great for students to practice reading skills in abundance. I would recommend the entire Chinese Breeze series to any student of Chinese.

I've used these whenever I could find them for a fair price. They are helpful, useful, and good practice for low level reading and word recognition.

Nice and good length of a short story. There were words to check that were not on the vocabulary list, just like in the lower level books, but this may be because I haven't trule learned some lower level characters when I was supposed to. I read Chinese Breeze books mostly without a dictionary, mark what I don't know or remember and sometimes check them in a dictionary afterwards. The books are a good aid to improve character recognition (in which I need to improve a lot) as the same characters come up over and over again. I have finished HSK4 level books and find these suitable for that purpose.

Das Material ist sehr interessant, bietet einen Einblick in die chinesische Lebensart und hat normale Standard-Sprache als Grundlage. Die nette Geschichte ist zum Lernen (auch als Anfänger) gut brauchbar. Auch wenn ich noch nicht alles verstehe... langsam und normal gelesen!
