I got this mostly as a car window breaker, not for breaking the glass on the back of a phone, and this certainly has the concentrated power to do the job.The pen is made of metal (aluminum?) and has a rugged look and feel to it. The ribbed barrel and flared, rounded top knob provide an excellent gripping surface that keeps the pen secure in your hand. The top end can be twisted to increase/decrease the spring tension to a desired level. The glass breaking tip is solid with a nice point and a pointed cap covers the glass breaking tip.The knob twists to increase or decrease the internal spring tension and this breaker can deliver a lot tension. The breaker easily works on any car window with little effort … even the tip cap is pointed enough to break glass of most things without much force.While this is designed to be a glass breaker, it is also innocuous enough to be a defensive force multiplier if the situation arises. This is an affordable and useful little gadget to have in the glove box or center console for emergency situations.
