Worth having in your family first aid kit
We're currently in lockdown and so no dentists are available so trying to buy any dental repair kit was difficult, after a couple of months of suffering with toothache I was able to get hold of this product. I had a temporary filling fall out and that was what I was using this product for, to replace that filling until I could get to the dentist. In the tub is a small amount of a 'plasticine like' filling paste and it comes with a small double ended spatula/compressor tool.Using the product is simple; first you need to ensure the filling hole is as clean as you can make it. I had earlier bought myself one of those Water Flossers that sends out a pulsing water jet to clean in between your teeth, I found this absolutely brilliant for getting rid of any debris within the filling (tip: use warm water or your exposed sensitive tooth will get a nasty shock, ouch). Once cleaned remove a small amount of the filling paste, work it between your fingers for a bit and then press into the filling and work it in as tight as you can with the accompanying tool. Bite down and ensure a nice bite fit, removing any excess, then you can use a wet Q-Tip to finally smooth off the top. Then leave it for 2-3 hours before eating and you're good to go. It's ok that the cavity is wet during the proceedure as it's the water that triggers the hardening process ...so you don't need to dry your mouth at any point. The filling has been in my mouth for about 10 days so far and is doing great, no real signs of wear and tear so I'm hopeful that it will last until I get to see my Dentist. That said there is still a bit of sensitivity so don't expect all your pain to magically go away, I can still feel it a little but nowhere near as bad as it was and I am quite able to go about my daily business without thinking about it every 2 minutes unlike before. Now I want to say something about the bad reviews you sometimes get on here and why there may be a previously unmentioned reason for their results compared to mine. You have to remember this is a temporary filling so it's never going to be as good as the real thing and the very nature of the hole you are trying to fill might be the cause of the problem itself. The hole in my tooth was adjacent to another tooth (so was surrounded nicely allowing you to pack in the paste), was pretty deep (size of surface hole was small compared to depth allowing for a good sized plug to form), and also had a very small lip of the remaining intact tooth at the surface that extended back into the hole a tiny amount (this meant there was something for the paste the get under and help keep it in place once hardened). I could imagine that a very shallow 'cone shaped' cavity with large surface area or worst still a corner of the tooth missing that's taking lateral forces as well as compressive forces might not fair anywhere near as good as mine did, as it's simply not hard enough or adhesive enough to the tooth as the proper thing, therefore it may well fail for you. So please keep that in mind when assessing if you think this might help you.Overall though I think it's a winner and when used in conjuction with something like Orajel Extra Strength (20% Benzocaine for local pain killing) is a welcome weapon in your arsenal against possible dental problems and how to deal with them before you can next see your Dentist.Hope that helps, Marc

Its been a saviour
I had it seemed to me massive filling come out of my tooth, at the back of my mouth. Could not get a dentist due to covid 19. Tried this out of desperation. Its been brilliant. Instructions are simple to follow. The practicality of getting it to stay in tooth at first can be frustrating. As soon as I put the Dentek into the hole in tooth, my mouth started to salivate, causing more moisture than normal, which can then start to dilute the dentek putty. I placed cotton buds around the filled area to keep the excessive saliva/moisture away. Worked a treat. My first dentek filling stayed in for about three weeks, I even forgot it was a temp filling, and this was without the hindsight of trying to reduce the moisture in my mouth when fitting. I am now on my second application. Wish I had known about this earlier as it will be a very definite addition to my eventual holiday first aid kit. Overall it has been saviour and taken away the worry of waiting for a dentist.

lost filling
I ordered this product as I was having problems with my upper molar. My filling had come out after my tooth broke and with the lockdown I could not get to the dentist.I was in a lot of pain so I ordered this product and used it.It was similar to the filling that the dentist used and quite solid.I could actually bite after but the only problem was my tooth was fractured so the filling didnt have enough support to stay in for a longer period.I would definitely recommend

Doesn’t last long
I have broken a molar - jagged edge, risk of filling falling out- dentist advised getting “over the counter repair kit” as only emergency hubs in operation and this is not considered an emergency. This was about the only product in stock anywhere that would arrive before end of june.Tiny pot of white crumbly stuff that you’re meant to dig out with implement provided and roll into small ball and push into place.then leave for 3-4 hours to set. It appeared to work but then left deposits on my tongue and came away after a few hours. For next attempt I applied before going to bed and left to set overnight which appeared more successful however as soon as I cleaned my teeth (very carefully) it fell out. I’m onto application 3 at the moment ... not sure if I will be able to eat or drink all day without this failing again. To be fair I am trying to repair a broken tooth. Possibly if I was just pushing into a cavity left by a lost filling it might work better. Someone did suggest chewing gum might be more effective or a bit of plumbing repair putty!

Does the job, and beats toothache!
Whilst unable to visit the dentist because of Covid-19 restrictions, I had a filling fall out. This stuff fills in the gap, and hopefully stops any decay till the dentist can sort it out properly. It's been in a couple of days now, and is wearing down a bit, but is still intact. It's easy to use.The only complaint is that it's competing with printer ink as the most expensive stuff in the planet by volume. Still, money well spent if it stops toothache.

Wouldn’t be without it now.
I used this to fill in where a bit of tooth had broken off a large molar. Due to lockdown and dentists closed, knew it would be a while before I could get it sorted properly. I wanted to fill hole to stop food getting and also to provide some stability to prevent further damage. Followed instructions and decided to do it before bed so that wouldn’t be eating or drinking on it for a long time. Works best when moist so keep closing mouth while filling and smoothing. Well that was over 10 days ago and it’s still in place. I do feel like it might be wearing away as I clean my teeth, etc but if I need to add a bit more over time until dentist open again then it’ll be no problem. It states there is enough for 12 uses. Would definitely get again and I’m gonna make sure I always have some in the house.
