Dog Loves But not that Tuff
First: I first bought the Elephant Tuffy, rated scale 8 on the Tuff toughness scale (see my other review) . It was my dogs favourite toy (a lurcher) but I've finally had to take it from him, despite sewing it and removing the ears / tusks, he finally managed to chew through its neck.I then bought Polly pig as it looked more rounded and less likely for my lurcher to find a weak spot which he tends to do with things that have ears / bits he can wear down quickly. Again he loved it and it has lasted several weeks.....yes weeks, not months, not even year! I realise it was rated on the scale of 7, so considering the elephant didnt last on scale 8, I suppose it is my fault for going down in scale rather than up! He chewed right through it's snout this time and it lasted a lot less time than the elephant. I have sewn it up again, but first outing out he had ripped some of the black edging off, so it shall go to piggy heaven now. I should add that my dog is only a year old and we do take toys from him as soon as he starts to chew them. But even under supervision, we cannot always get to him quick enough to remove it before the damage is done. Lurchers are like having a small race horse in the house at time! When he's gotta run, he's gotta run !However, I am now going to try mega octopus scale number 10 ! we shall see.....I shall post my review of that in a few months... Maybe I am sucker for punishment you say? perhaps I am, but I haven't found anything better yet....My 3 star rating is for the fact that my dog LOVES Tuffy toys and many of them (not all!) do not have the potentially dangerous squeakers in them which are always a risk and I can never trust leaving my dog alone with a squeaker toy for 2 mins. They are good quality and weighty, despite my experiences so far..... and I am pleased that the Tuffy makers are at least trying to make a fun durable toy for my dog.My complaint is mostly the price. Very expensive, too expensive for something that isn't going to last a lifetime in my opinion. I am also quite annoyed that if you shop around on the net you can in fact buy Tuffy toys direct from the USA for a several UK pounds cheaper even adding the cost of shipping! This isn't really acceptable, as I feel UK consumers are being ripped off. Finally, I would suggest that if you have a large breed or a dog that loves to chew or throw its toy 'prey' around in the air as my lurcher does, then I'd strongly recommend not getting any Tuffy toy less than Scale 8.For medium and small dogs with less chewing power, you may get away with buying a Scale 7 Tuffy. And small dogs or those with less chewing power, perhaps a scale 6 or less. But if you want something that's going to last, I'd go for the highest scale you can afford, which in theory should work out cheaper in the long run.Keeping my fingers crossed for mega octopus. If it breaks so quickly I shall send it back this time rather than sewing it. I really hope Tuffy come up with even better designs in the future, because I think they are getting there, although not quite yet!

Good value
The media could not be loaded. The only toy that jack (beagle) has not torn to shreds within minutes. Rabbit is still essentially fully intact after multiple days 👌🏻 toy itself is super solid, quite hard for me to get the squeaker to squeak because its a tough toy. Will buy from this toy brand again for sure

Supposed to have a squeaker??
This toy seems to be well made, sturdy enough for my sight hound, however the body is packed that solid you can't find the squeaker easily at all. I ended up standing on it to find it. Other than that it's sturdy enough and seams are sewn strong enough. Only test for us is the time test.

Not indestructible but as good as I've seen
Our dog doesn't chew the furniture but is VERY hard on toys. The only toys to survive are solid rubber and typical soft toys are 'eaten' immediately.Piglet is doing well. She's had her snout bitten off and some stuffing eaten, but three weeks after giving it to our dog she's still in play.If your dog is like ours don't expect this toy to shrug off heavy chewing but it's as good (if not better) than anything else we've seen.

My dogs loved him
My dogs loved it, however even with a rating on 9 it still didn't survive the first day, we do have an incredibly strong chewer, and the rabbit had lost part of an ear and his nose by the end of the first day, he is now missing a fair bit of his stuffing a few weeks on, I think we need a 10 strength rating for our dogs. Overall i only really purchase this range for my dogs because everything else we have tried lasts less than an hour, at least we get a few weeks out of these toys,

Tasty pig for labrador.
I've got a 7 month old Labrador cross, who has eaten all previous stuffed toys. He eats about 2 tennis balls per walk and so needs a toy that is sturdy and will last him a bit longer. He immediately took to the pig and managed to eat it's tail on day one. The toy is now, after 2 weeks, starting to look a bit frayed but still feels very sturdy and he loves it. Maybe I should have gone with a 'sturdiness factor' of 10, but I thought this would be sturdy enough considering he is not a pit bull terrier. Also, the toy is quite heavy and when he is shaking it around, we all make sure everything breakable is safely stowed away! All in all, I would buy him another one again when this one dies.

Durable toy for happy dogs.
Since finding Tuffy toys I have bought quite a few, my Husky and I play pretty rough and most toys don't last long. These toys are great and although she still gets through them eventually they are much more durable than other toys we have tried. Once there is a tear the stuffing comes out but the toys are still good for playing tug, she has a de-stuffed shark that she still loves charging about with. Before the Husky I had a German Shepherd and could have saved a bunch of money if I'd had these toys then. This sheep has lasted well, no rips yet and she spent xmas week racing around the house carrying it by the throat and shaking it like crazy. No squeakers so she hasn't focused on one area and it's a good weight so watch out if you get up close during play as it can give you a fair whack to the head. Also, be careful if you throw it as I almost took out a glass display case and my wife gave me "the look".Edit - so it's the 15th of April and my Husky finally tore into this, it has lasted really well and has been one of her favourite toys since xmas. Really pleased with this as most toys don't stand up to our rough play.

Big toy for a big dog - not a Jack Russel!
This one is going to last a while. More so because my dog is rather small and I didn’t look at the dimensions. He loves it though. It was bought of one of many presents for Christmas. When he opened it he went a little bonkers. I don’t know if it was the smell of it or the shear size compaired to him (again my fault). But he was instantly playing and dragging it around like a small animal would. This happened for around 15 mins where he the wore himself out, took it to his bed and used it as a pillow. I often trip over it of a night as he chooses to leave it in the middle of the landing.
