Not as robust as I expected.
This was a replacement for one I have had for 3 years. It feels less sturdy and the plastic has already got a big dent in it. No idea how. Contents tend to get blocked so needs a regular shake. Time will tell but I suspect it won't last long which would make it expensive. One of the screws already lost. This was a waste of money.

Still one of the best feeders ..but....
Not quite as well made as my original donut feeder. The screw on the body of the feeder, which connects to the chain through the top, is cut shorter, which makes it harder to locate through the lid and with a shorter thread it doesn’t feel so secure. It is only welded on while the original was a bolt through the top metal support. The major concern is that the thin hanging chain is welded directly on to the screw connector and feels as though it could break off easily when trying to unscrew it, leaving you with no way to hang the feeder up. My original one had an all in one connector with an integral ring that the chain then fixed on. Now that the thread is so short you would need to tighten it up to make sure it was well seated, needing more twisting pressure to unscrew it and risking the welded chain giving way.Apart from those concerns I think this style of feeder is good, it keeps the food nice and dry and if the weather is bad it can hold several days worth of food without you having to go out to top it up. (Unless you have a horde of Starlings descending on it like I do!). My previous one lasted a good few years until the plastic suddenly fractured this winter. If this one lasts as well I will be delighted.

Looks great (as long as you don't look too closely) !
A really pleasing design visually but the quality of manufacture, materials and above all, the finish were poor. As others have mentioned, this item arrived in a soft envelope and the bird stands had been bent and twisted out of shape as had the top loop to which the hanging chain is attached. Being fairly practical I was able to bend these back into approximately the right position, but I was really worried that they would snap as I was doing this. The paint finish was also poor and I was lucky enough to have an aerosol of matt black paint which I was using for another job with which I could re spray the stands (before re assembling them which was rather fiddly). The stainless steel top in particular, had edges which were dangerously rough and sharp. I had to place this in a vice and use a small file to ensure that these wouldn't cause any future cuts when re filling the feeder. Perhaps the supplier might consider improved protective packaging in future ? I am a design teacher and if one of my pupils had shown me this as a finished item, they would have been asked to take it back to the workshops and finish it properly before taking it home.

Best bird feeder I’ve ever found.
Whoever designed this feeder got it spot on!It doesn’t rain in, so the seed doesn’t rot. Most importantly, the birds like it!Swiftly delivered tooWould definitely recommend.👍

Idea good but it fails badly on quality
I have a large conventional tube feeder but it leaves small birds competing with pigeons, magpies and crows, so I bought this to give the smaller bids a chance. The idea is good allowing only small birds to feed from the perches. Sadly the quality does not match the idea. For a start to two perches were bent flat, which meant bending them back straight, next the chain on the screw top was also bent flat which meant the who thing tilted when suspended, so needed to be straightened. When filled with seed and the cover screwed on the chain snapped as soon as it was lifted up exposing a weakness in the figure eight loop welded to the screw top.I had also purchased a peanut donut holder to replace one squirrels had holed so luckily had a spare top, only to discover the design on this feeder has just three threads protruding through the cover.Tightening can only get to about five threads which is hardly satisfactory. If this is the deluxe version I would hate to see the standard version. All in all it is a bad purchase with a design based on minimum cost over even modest quality. The chain assembly is weak and abysmal quality, the bolt through the cover is too short and it can hardly be good for the perches to first be bent upwards then bent down again. The item has only just arrived so have no idea about durability but on the record so far I am hardly filled with confidence.
