This lace-up rocker shoe is designed to improve muscle regeneration, posture, and stride. MBT shoes are physiological footwear--the first footwear that has a positive effect on the entire body. MBT stands for "Masai Barefoot Technology." Their innovative design includes a multi-layered, curved sole which makes for a unique and rewarding walking experience. The key to MBT is its patented sole structure. The shank, PU midsole with Pivot and the Masai Sensor create a soft surface that is akin to walking barefoot on springy moss or on a sandy beach. This creates a natural instability underfoot, which activates the supporting muscle system and has positive effects on the entire body. Wearing MBTs significantly improves your gait and posture and relieves pressure on your joints and back. It also exercises a large number of muscles, whether you’re walking or standing. This, in turn, stimulates your metabolism, burns extra calories and speeds up muscle regeneration. In addition, MBTs can have a firming effect on abdominal, leg and buttock muscles. Wearing MBT shoes can also be a therapeutic tool for back, hip, leg and foot problems. At MBT they don't believe in shoes. They believe in footwear that makes you better from the ground up.

WIDEST MBT AVAILABLE 2014
every MBT is different. I have tried ten styles, This is the only style that is not too tight. My foot runs a little wide and I go up 1/2 size to accommodate orthotic. Even without orthotic every other style, new and old (small rocker, big rocker) is way too tight after an hour of walking (Size 41). I wear a 10 in all other brands and use a Birkinstock blue orthotic. In this style, which I wanted for the gym, a 10 (41) was way too big. I have very high arches and the old MBTs did not require arch support, but new styles are more shallow with only a little rocker, so I need the orthotic. That being said, I still had to come down to a 40 because this style is WIDE.(BUT NOWHERE NEAR AS WIDE AS THE OLD Sport2)) With my orthotic the shoe is comfortable but without it my foot inside the shoe is all over the place.I wish someone had written a review like this for me, now I am returning 4 prs of MBTs because I had to find out for myself. To summarize: the MBT Sport3 (not the Sport2) is a half size large, requires arch support and is good when you get it all figured out. It, and Kenesio tape, and compression tights, is keeping me from a knee replacement.

I am one happy camper....finally!
My ankle replacement surgery was done in 2006, a revision in 2011 and removal of hardware in 2014. At that time I was fitted with an ankle fusion.Since 2006 I have been trying to find a pair of sneakers that I could comfortably wear all day. These shoes are heaven sent! They put a little pressure on the arch and completely took the pressure off my heel so I can wear them all day.If you are like me and have tried Nu Balance and many other brands without success, please try these! You will not be sorry!I am one very happy camper!:)

I wanted these to work
Rocker sole shoes make it so you hit with your heel, move to the outside of your foot and then roll in. I tried this out and researched. They are very cushy. But in the end, they made my knees hurt, although they are supposed to be good for knee arthritis, which I don't have. They made my hips hurt. they are supposed to be bad for vertigo, but how could they be? A bosu ball is great for vertigo, because it teaches your body to get stable. Same with these. I did walk on uneven surfaces one day. They can make you feel like you're going to fall if you don't walk slowly enough. I don't think these should be worn by people who have problems with balance. I really wanted these to work. I also bought a pair of ryn shoes online, they were horrid because they have patent leather on them [I didn't know, and are as stiff as a board, ryn are supposed to be better than mbt because they have a stablizing bar.I purchased power step pink insoles, they help, but I have high arches. the arch support in these shoes is non existent for me, but I have high arches. it might be great for someone else. In the end, I was tired of waking up with hip and knee pain. I DID walk in them all day, then I would skip a day, and walk in them 3 hours, then skip a day, etc.Tip: if you use inserts get a half to one full size larger.

Would be great for some but not for me....
I really liked these and was soooo hopeful. The good: for those of us with wider feet (my front is wide, my heel is narrow. Wide widths are too wide but pointed B's are usually too tight) these were lovely to slip into. My feet did not feel squished and I could wiggle my toes. I am a straight up 6.5 in regular shoes/sneakers and normally go from a 6.5 to 7 in rocker bottom shoes. At 6.5 these fit perfectly length and width wise. I was on a role and ready to be dancing in the streets. Now the bad: The rocker is not very pronounced. I have no arch in one foot due to an injury and the old style MBTs were a shoe that allowed me to walk pain free all day long without my orthotics. No foot pain, no knee pain, no back pain and I could even walk the next day after being on my feet 12 hours or more....nirvana. These feel almost flat to me in comparison. Although I loved the fit, I knew the rocker would not be enough to give support to my non-arch and allow me to work all day without pain...rats and double rats, I returned them and my search goes on.Side note: great service added to MBTs, you can put in the serial number and confirm that you have purchased authentic MBTs. As someone who has mistakenly purchased a knockoff which was decomposing within a month, this is a great tool for consumers.

I walk daily for 5 miles or more and these shoes are the best. I have recommended them to my walking partners ...
I have been wearing MBT’s for over 10 years. I walk daily for 5 miles or more and these shoes are the best. I have recommended them to my walking partners and they wear them now as well as one of their husbands. The husband wears nothing but MBT’s in his dress shoes as well as casual.

Declining quality over the years , will no longer purchase
I have worn MBT sport shoes for 8 years. My first pair, the original sport lasted almost 5 years with daily wear at work. My second pair, the MBT Sport 2 lasted 2 and 1/2 years, still worth the price. THIS pair (MBT Sport 3) was purchased 1 year ago and began wearing out over 2 months ago. The inside above my heel ripped on both shoes and my back has started hurting again (my indication that a particular pair has worn out). I'm SO disappointed at the inferior quality of this shoe compared to 1st and 2nd generation. They are using cheaper materials obviously and I will be forced to find a new work shoe.

Great but make sure you get the right size.
Very comfy, cool design, love mbt's support and feel like walking on air. Take some getting used to but good for plantar fasciitis and joint pains. 7-7.5 US is described as a 5 UK/38 EU: I'm usually a 4.5 UK/37 EU but these fit me well.
