Charles Bentley 1.7 Litre LED Illuminated Glass Electric Kettle 360 Cordless

First one I got had a slight defect in the kettle that developed into a crack in the bottom, and living in a hard water area the kettle quickly got covered in limescale, however the company that supplied the product did replace it after a few weeks, but they delivered the kettle to the wrong address and didn't even bother to stick a notice through my door, letting me know they had left it with a neighbour, fortunately I live in an area where the people here are decent and they brought it over to my house.The kettle itself looks really nice. and after seeing how quickly the kettle got covered in limescale I invested in a water filter and it has made an incredible difference, the filter was a cheap wilkos water filter which is good for 100 litres of water per filter, so a really good trade off to keep the kettle looking good and the tea tasting great!I'd give the company delivering it a low rating, the product itself is good enough for boiling water, but without the water filter it quickly becomes an ugly product if you live in a hard water area, so being forced to invest in a water filter just to keep the kettle looking good lowers the rating.

This kettle looks good, boils well, and has a pretty blue light. It is surprisingly unbalance when pouring. However, the really annoying thing is the drip of water that invariably falls on the work surface when pouring. It is clean water that has condensed round the filler lid but it has to be mopped up almost every time the kettle is used. The accumulating limescale on the boiler plate can clearly be seen through the glass body. It is not a problem except that it encourages more frequent cleaning than usual with a kettle.

The media could not be loaded.  Agree with other reviewers that this has to be one of the best kettles on the market. Solid build, great chunky handle, very quiet compared to others, super quick 3kw boil, great design, 75cm lead to allow easy placement in kitchen. Easy to see water level and looks great boiling with its light on!

Nice looking kettle that luckily for me, has retained it's looks due to being in a soft-water area in the UK. It boils quickly and fairly quietly though steam does escape from the hinge area between lid and body resulting in a bit of condensation. Pouring requires a higher angle than it seems but as others have said, if you pour too fast then water can edge out around the spout. Does the job, nice to look at, good value for money, few issues getting used to it but all told, happy with purchase

The kettle was great at first but after a week or so started to fall apart, the button to open the lid broke so now ot has to be slammed shut to close it....the limescale it produces is disgusting and the water I pout for a cup of tea is more limacale than water!

Loved the look of this kettle when we bought it in January 2017. We have a water softener so over the 2 years we've had it we've suffered only very minimal limescale issues. The shiny surface of the base inside the kettle began to degrade after a short while but while this spoiled the look of the kettle it had no impact on the function. Over the last few months the kettle lid opening has sometimes been temperamental, the button needing extra pressure or sometimes 2 or 3 attempts to open the lid: in the last few days this has got worse. Today I went to fill the kettle and the whole mechanism disintegrated, the stainless steel band around the top of the kettle sprang off and the handle came away from the kettle body. I'm thankful that the kettle wasn't full of boiling water. If you find that your kettle lid opening mechanism is becoming temperamental please stop using your kettle immediately as it could seriously injure you. I'm about to contact authorities regarding this product.

Good kettle and the LED light bring a fresh touch to the sideboard.As it is a glass kettle regular descaling necessary as the limescale s easily visible.
