Adjustable for easier reading.
This product was a game changer for my crock pot meal prep recipes. I can place it anywhere on my counter while I’m reading and making the recipes and keep my recipes sheets clean. In the summer I will be able to open the screen door and windows too because the clips hold the paper in place so I don’t have to worry about the recipe blowing off the counter while I’m cooking with the doors and window open. Collapses easily to store in drawer with my cutting boards so I can keep it in the kitchen when I don’t need it and it doesn’t take up valuable counter real estate when not in use. A little pricy but worth it compared to the other choices out there.

Hits Sweet Spot in Value for Price
I did a lot of price shopping for a book stand and this cookbook holder hit the sweet spot. First off, I didn't buy it for cookbooks, as my idea of cooking is putting two kinds of cereals into a bowl. I just needed something to hold thick, heavy books that tend to flip their pages so I can work at my computer while referring to the book. There are a lot of book stands out there, some more expensive, some cheaper, but this one is right in the middle in terms of price, but high on quality. The metal bands hold the pages flat are sturdy, and if they break from over-use, easily replaceable as they are simply screwed into the wood. The wood itself looks good and is thick enough to be sturdy even under a heavy book. The metal lever in the back moves to different notches in the wood to provide a reasonable (5) number of positions from almost upright to about 45 degrees. It, too, is sturdy and doesn't slip on me. Turning pages is not a problem as you can move the black siders in either direction (which ever is closest to the edge) to flip a page. Highly recommended.

It’s perfect for reading!
It’s exactly as pictured and works perfectly. Sadly, it’s not for thick books, I feel like it strains to hold it in place and I feel like it I force the book into it, it might snap. But otherwise, excellent product. Would recommend

Doesn’t hold thick books, but if you’re creative it can still work
I guess this book holder meant for average books. As a reference point, Harry Potter series, it was good for books 1-3, no good when it came to book 4. Other than that it’s pretty good.SOLUTION FOR THICK BOOKS:So that’s what my husband did, a very super simple solution. He replaced only one side (the thick part) and used a longer screw and a stack of washers, about 3 of them to accommodate the thick books. Will change the side once the left side of the book will get thicker. Works well!!

Book table top holder
This is a well made and very useful item, especially for heavy books. It sits on my kitchen table with a book on the bottom ledge, and the side holders keep the pages from flopping to the other side. It is really great! Well constructed and very sturdy! A keeper...

It works well.
I like the way it works, but it's a bit heavier than I expected. I used it to read a magazine a small book (it doesn't take a large book) and my Kindle.

very handy
This little book stand is very handy for cook books but I also use when I am reading and eating. I don't have to hold my book with one hand and try to eat. Works great.

Great for Reading for Long Periods
I started getting upper back pain from hunching over to read my textbooks for grad school and realized this wasn't sustainable. This little book holder has helped so much to prevent me from hunching over to read and highlight pages. While it's annoying to have to use the little legs to keep the pages back because I have to move them for every page, I'll take the inconvenience over the back pain. I dropped it off my desk the other day onto my wood floors and it survived so it's pretty sturdy too.

Not as good as first thought....
This book holder started out well, but after I had used it for a couple of days, the metal rubber-tipped page holders became loose and therefore could not be relied upon to hold the book on its own without me having to hold one side of the book myself - exactly why I had ordered this more expensive version book holder to replace the one I had before but which (again) would not hold the pages firmly enough. I have not gone back to the first book holder, which is very disappointing. This design is good in theory, but with even a little use, it slackens off, making it pretty useless.

A Perfect Solution
Finally I have a solution to avoiding wrist strain from trying to hold up my magazine when I sit and read in the morning. Also helps with back and neck strain as well. The answer to my prayers!
