I always use baking soda with the Cichlid liane salt. The lake salt does not change my PH. I’ve been using this salt for about nine years.

Q: Is there a shelf life or expiration date on a product such as this?

I don't believe there is an expiration date. If there is it's probably years. If it hardens then I believe you might have lost some of the nutrients from moisture but still usable.
