Q: What size is best for a 36" chest?

According to Mountain warehouse sizing chart a size S(small) is for a 36.5 inch chest (mens) I use this as a top for mountain biking / walking and chose xxxl over my normal size xxl for a loose fit, if using as a base layer then best choose your exact size , before you do I suggest looking at their web site and double check their size charts www.mountainwarehouse.com

Q: How do you clean it - on the garment, it just says "Do not use standard detergent"

Just use normal soap powder! - 11/12/2020: Managed to buy 2 from one local store and 2 from another store, because they didn't have more in-stock that they could order for me! I asked how should it be washed because with waterproof garments I usually use Nikwax: Purchased one type of Nikwax for the Mountain Equipment Lhotse Gore-Tex Pro 3 waterproof jacket, probably, collected last week. I was advised to buy a different Nikwax to protect my Adidas ATX Goretex Hiking Shoes, which I did. But I was advised by a Mountain Warehouse's store employer that for this tee-shirt just use ordinary soap. Therefore, I shall use the least soap as possible, because soap probably tends to reduce the breathability of waterproof materials. But I suppose that shouldn't be using waterproof treatments for tee-shirts because its job isn't to be waterproof but breathability.
