As someone with chronic insomnia, I’ve been on the market for a white noise machine for quite some time. My old machine was big and didn’t look very nice. And the sound was not ideal.I picked up the Douni. Packed responsibly in sturdy cardboard, the Douni Sleep Sound machine looks and feels different than any other I’ve seen. With easily the best faux wood grain finish and texture I’ve ever seen, this is a very handsome unit that would look good on any side table... seriously, the pictures don’t do justice, this looks like real wood. It even feels a bit like wood, but without the weight. I quickly was able to get it set up and plugged in with the extra long usb-type power cord that was provided. It’s a small detail, but usually these kinds of machines have short power cords which are awkward to set up.A short user guide explains the functions of each button, but it’s fairly intuitive. There is a timer function which turns off the sound after a period of time, but it can be disabled so you can run the machine full time, no problem. Volume controls and buttons work well like all Douni products I’ve bought. Three sound selection buttons toggle through the various sounds of each category. I found my favorite sound, “crickets at night” right away. I really like the generous selection of fan sounds and also the noise sounds - white, pink, brown, and other frequencies. The waterfall and creek sounds were also excellent. I’ve made field recordings of nature sounds before myself, I can tell the quality here is unique.What really sets this one from others I’ve tried though, is the lack of an identifieable loop point: each sound plays naturally, with no odd rhythms. The sense of calm I got from the sounds I tried was much deeper than others I’ve tried. The sound is excellent - the noise and fan sounds have lower frequencies present which help mask outside sounds. There is currently a big road project going on right outside my house, but I found a noise sound which effectively canceled the noise from the trucks and the work going on. Remarkable!I love how small it is, how sophisticated it looks, and most importantly how it sounds and performs. I’ve had two solid nights of deep sleep so far and I look forward to using it tonight. If I was to suggest anything it might be those light-up buttons which are present on the A7 Bluetooth speaker, since this is used primarily in a dark room. But that is nit-picking, and would likely add to the price of the unit.This is a simple, elegant, effective noise machine which is more relaxing than others I’ve tried. I definitely recommend it.

Using the white noise machine has given such a great night sleep. I like a constant sound. My favorite is the fan. There are a ton of different white noises to choose from, birds, water, fan, etc. The fan has various tones that you can pick from. You don't necessarily have to use the machine during sleep time. There is a bird sound option that sounds like morning outdoor song birds. It's so beautiful to listen to. The rain sounds beautiful as well. I wasn't sure if this product would really help with sleep, but I can say for me it has given me a much needed great night sleep. I do like listening to the various sounds during the day at times. It's easy to use. There are push buttons for the sounds, and for on and off etc.

I use white noise / sound machines for privacy during my work with clients as well as for relaxation.This Douni product (Douni is a company I have had one interaction with thus far, when I purchased their truly unbelievable Bluetooth speaker model A5 at the recommendation of Oluv from Oluv's Gadgets - and boy, was he right on the money - you can't get a better BT speaker for the price) is stylish, cost-effective and nearly flawless.Pros:Design - wood grain look, stylish and compact. Buttons are clearly marked.Usability - easy to operate even without reading the manual. From unboxing to operation, less than a minute.Features and options - 10 natural sounds (from birds, to stormy weather, heartbeat, train motion, etc.) - there's something for everyone, and they are non-looping, which is nice. I mean, they may eventually loop, but I have not noticed the loop. 7 unique fan sounds. 7 unique white noise sounds. The volume is loud and the sound is clear. There's a timer feature with 30, 60, and 90 minute options.Value - $33.95 for the unit, plus a USB 110V/240V 5V 1.0A charger feels like a very good price to me. $29.99 would be perfect.Areas for improvement in v2:Bluetooth speaker option - Douni, come on, with your Bluetooth speaker quality, couldn't you add a Bluetooth speaker functionality to this device? Seems too obvious to miss...Rechargeable battery operation option - this may have caused a price increase, but - it also allows for untethered operation which allows for quick relocation in the room.USB charging cable - instead of a USB A to proprietary connector, how about a USB A to micro USB or USB C?

I went through hundreds of glowing reviews for this device I was confident it would do its job. Unfortunately it has a minor flaw with a huge impact. I bought this for the white noise sounds/fan sounds. The natural sounds are all trash. There are some good white noise options but the rub is they all have inconsistent “hidden” sounds. It’s hard to describe but after your brain gets used to the loud fan sound, it starts to pick up any variations. There are these very low volume noises that catch my attention and defeat the purpose of a drone. Unfortunately I had to donate it.EditPerhaps a defect. Seller provided full refund

I do therapy work by video at home and needed a noise canceling machine for outside the office door. I read the reviews and decided on this one as i wanted something other the ugly white blocks that so expensive. Limited sound options, which was fine for me, but excellent volume options. Fairly long cord too. It was perfect! And it's cute to boot. Highly recommended! Just as desrcibed.

Bought this to help with the noise from a downstairs neighbor playing loud video games. I like the quality of the sound and the options available. I struggle with insomnia and I love the white noise feature that helps with sleep! Bonus: using the train and bird sounds on higher volume got my neighbor to turn down the noise.

I use white noise to block out tinnitus.This works great and is easy to use.

I purchased this white noise maker to help drowned out my neighbours and their noisy jacuzzi motor, of which they're oblivious too. So far, it seems to fit the bill quite nicely. It has a multitude of relatively good quality sounds which is coupled with a good speaker. The stylish casing is also very welcome as it can fit in a wide array of different home decor tastes. I'm now considering purchasing a second unit for another area of the house. I would recommend this handy little peace maker!

Has a big variety of sounds and it works great for my home office space and my bedroom as well!I’m ordering another one so I don’t have to keep moving this one! Love it!

I ordered this with the high hopes of getting a better sleep because everything wakes me up. I purchased this with a pair of wired earbuds that are so small and soft that I can’t feel them when I sleep on my side. The machine works great with and without the earbuds!! Lots of sound options to choose from!! Zzzzzz

This machine: it has a lot of sounds to choose from , but there are only a few I like and find relaxing. Maybe there will only be a few for most people and they will be different for different people, I guess, but I can't imagine anyone falling asleep to some of them. . The other con is that the sound quality is not top notch. On the pro side, it is easy to set a timer to have it on for a half hour, an hour or hour and a half, or continuously. I have found an hour and a half to be perfect for a good nights sleep. The light that shows it is on is tiny and does not really cast much light, so it doesn't interfere with sleep.The device looks really nice and doesn't take up too much space. Over all it is helpful, although I question if I could not have gotten a better one for less money. Perhaps my expectations are too high for the sound quality of a fourty nine dollar machine. The sound quality is not terrible but the speaker lacks clarity. It's way better with earphones, but I don't want to use those for sleeping.
