Very good!
A friend of mine recommended the book to me even though it's outside my genres of interest and I gotta say it was a very enjoyable read! It gave me everything I hope for in a book: interesting characters with good development, a storyline with high stakes and varied PoVs and problems, and an interesting setting. The most surprising and welcome thing about this book was how it was able to do that in such a succinct and compact manner. And in my opinion, the world building didn't suffer at all for it's brevity. There was no fluff or filler, just all the goodness I hope to find throughout a book. Looking forward to reading book 2

Spell binding, quirky, and unputdownable!
I had the privilege of beta reading this book, but had to pick it back up again to see the final product and it captured me all over again. Harking back to my childhood science fiction of Logan's Run, the story is set in a dystopian apocalyptic world where the social norms are dictated by two races, Therans manage humanity's fate in a bureaucratic rigidity that chaffs. But its what they have to do to survive.Hurteau's story of friendship, love, and what one is willing to do to save those they care about was heart wrenchingly wonderful. The domed setting doesn't feel displaced, and features light science fiction even non fans of the genre can enjoy. Vividly told, with a host of complicated and believable characters torn between social norms and society's expectations. With one of the most memorable starting lines I've ever read, it weaves a complicated story that comes back to itself in a tale of hatred, compassion, and sacrifice between friends.SPOILERS: I loved the ending, even if I cursed the author… and still do.

Wonderful story, Amazing characters
With Three Days Till Dawn, Hurteau has proven herself to be a master storyteller. She shares her vision with a playful precision, allowing her characters to introduce the reader to everything they need to know about the world in which they live. There isn’t a wasted moment in the whole of the story. Hurteau deepens her characters through mundane interactions that nonetheless evoke real emotion from the reader. In so doing, she balances the needs of character development, world-building, and plot pacing with ease. While there is much to love about this book, I found myself most often ruminating on the friendship of Felix and Ripley. Their relationship is more than “opposites attract”; Hurteau avoids falling into the trap of trope-like banality by letting their complexities surface as their lives are turned upside-down.There cannot be enough good said about this story, or about Hurteau’s abilities as a world-builder. Her rhythm is smooth, her prose is natural, and her sense of timing is uncanny. If this novel is any indication of things to come, we can expect big things from Hurteau in the future.

Binge-worthy reading
This is my personal experience and honest opinion of Three Days Til Dawn by R.F. Hurteau. Synopsis and spoilers are NOT included.I love this book and all the characters, but especially Felix. He really is the heart and soul of this novel. (Sorry Ripley!) I'm not usually a science fiction reader at all, going more for fantasy and women's fiction, but this novel is very character driven and hit me right in the feels. However, there are still enough sciency bits to keep my scifi fanatic niece happy too. I devoured this book as soon as I got it and loaned it to her. She can't put it down either. For age range reference, she is mid-teens and I am mid-thirties.I found the plot well-paced, interesting, and in a fantastic setting. I love the way the chapters dovetail and the multiple POVs, which are handled beautifully. Mrs. Hurteau also touches on contemporary issues in society, but masterfully and without coming off as preachy.Overall it is a great story in a great setting that made me laugh and cry. I'll definitely be looking for more of the Antiquity's Gate series.
