I did not care for the content. Waaaay too transparent and juvenile. I may not be a fantastic sewist but this didn't show me anything.

I expected more sewing instruction. Instead, the book is basically a planning/recording notebook for one's sewing projects. I can do that on my own.

The reason I bought this book was for 4 tips from old WORKBASKET issues. They sparked ideas I could use on stuff I have to upscale, update and create.This 2011 book is setup and written in a "journaling" type style. There are grid pages throughout the book to allow you to sketch, draft or make notes as you create. There are also stitching, garment making tips for a novice or as reminders.This book would be a good gift from someone trying to teach a youth or novice. You could paste in fabric swatches and use it as a reference to teach someone how to shop for notions, supplies, etc. plus teach them organizing/setting up goals. The graft paper area is a great way to teach a novice how to create or for an intermediate to make notes and keep track of a few projects.Since I was able to buy the book at a reduced price, it was a nostalgic purchase. I am a very experienced sewer/crafter. The four tips will more than pay for the book.

It's very helpful with the planning portion of any project. I like how it's laid out and the little tips are wonderful. This book is less a how-to and more an organizational tool with tips in between. Most of the tips are common knowledge, but there were a few things that were new to me, so that was nice.If you're looking for a how-to or an informational type book, this might not be what you're looking for, but if you're looking for a helpful guide to organizing and planning a project, then this would be perfect!
