A call to common sense
a very insightful book which delves into the history of some of the crazy ideas that have taken hold of academia and education in general. Due to nonjudgentalism many youths are dying and getting sick with no compass on their moral decisions. Nature has boundaries and when we scorn them with behaviours that entail potential self-destruction very likely sooner or later we will be facing the consequences. Education can reduce or increase those risks. A very timely book for anyone living in the Muddle Ages we are going through now. Kudos to its author.

A must for parents, teachers, counseler and social workers., etc.
Complaining about the downward turn of our society is so common. Yet many people continue to support the very thinking and teaching that perpetuates this downward trend. Kilpatrick traces the thinking through our social history that has gradually led to this state. As human self-centeredness progesses, this snowball has gathered momentum. Are we willing to look at ourselves and others, and then be willing to take the necessary steps to gain control of our societies?

An easy read that clearly points out the problems in American education
Back when I was on the board of my girl's Charter School, this was my faborite book I recommended to people (and it still is) if they want to educate themselves about education. It's an easy read with good clear points and common sense solutions. Most excellent!
