eCobbler Heel Tip Kits for DIY Shoe Repairs

I have been using this product for many years, I can only buy these on Amazon. These tips save me a fortune in replacing shoes. Delivery good, value good.

I used this product to extend the life of my gore tex walking boots of which the heels were worn out. I took it to a shoe repair shop that the suggestions was to have the soles replaced. I doubt whether that would damage the gore tex waterproofing in the process. So I decided to give this produce a trail.The product came with a tube of glue. I used the glue to stick the heel pieces on after filing a bit to ensure a reasonably flat surface for gluing. The pieces made the soles back to the shape of a normal pair of shoes. After 18 hours, I tested drive it by walking about two miles and deliberately step onto a small pond of water. There is no sign of the piece coming lose. I suppose that I would add a year to the life of the boots.I speculate that one has to follow carefully the instructions at the back of the package to make the glue work. It should be contact cement and the right drying time before sticking together would be essential.The only complain is that the product has been slow to deliver. As a product for repairing daily use items, it would be good to have an option of paying a bit more but having the goods delivered the next day.

Bought Large Size heel tip kit for pair of Peter Storm walking shoes with very worn heels after 4 months (mainly pavement) walking. Able to site tip pretty well over worn area. Word of warning, though. I only got one chance at applying the replacement tip to the required position on the shoe sole - the adhesion system grabbed instantly and wouldn't let go. After 3 weeks of several miles pavement walking most days (both dry and wet), adhesion remains excellent, but noticeable wear to one of the tips . Such wear is probably due to bad gait, but Tips may still last longer than parts of the rest of the sole which are now also wearing badly. All in all, well worth the approx. £4 outlay, even if I just get a couple or so of extra months overall life from the shoes.

They were too small for my walking shoes but fitted other casual shoes perfectly. The glue has a bit of a ritual to follow, but is good when finished.I'm giving it 'OK' because it is difficult to ascertain, before purchase, if it is a suitable size.

Ease of use, adhesion very good, make sure you follow the instructions, only done right shoe worn down more than left, not tried it yet outside, to much rain👍

Stuck to rubber sole trainers ..left for 3 daysWith weight on.to stick.Lasted about 2 weeks got about 10 miles then fell off slowly bit by bit.

Great money saver. Recently wore out the heals of leather soled slippers. New Replacements were going to be fairly expensive so opted for the repair kit. Repair kit arrived swiftly, followed instructions to the letter ( unusual for me). Low and behold I now have fully serviceable slippers at a fraction of their replacement cost. Repair was carried out a few days ago and seems to be holding up well.

This item originally made as a metal version for all leather shoes appears now to be a plastic version only. It has been imitated by far eastern manufactures but never bettered.The high viscosity version of superglue is much better to use than the one provided although eventually the glue eats into the plastic sole of the shoe however, by that time the shoe is pretty worn out.Roughen both the shoe and heel well with the greater provided. Make sure the shoe heel is smooth I have used a light grinding wheel on the shoe heel but be careful you do not melt too much of the plastic heel edge. You will find the shoe is ready to wear within a short time using superglue.
