All my power tools are Metabo. I find them very reliable for the jobs I need them for. This torch Is fantastic and very bright.The reason for the average rating was due to the after sales service from this company. The item arrived quickly after payment , however there was a slight issue with the on/off trigger. It did not always come on. Over the following months this steadily got worse and worse ( I had to press the button a few dozen times before the torch would light). I contacted the company and was told that I would have to contact Metabo. I contacted Metabo and was told that as it had been less than 12 months since I bought the item the company were obliged to rectify the problem. I again tried to get in touch with the retail company, sending various emails but I was never contacted and no one attempted to sort out my problem. I personally feel that at this point it was so close to the end of the 12 months after sale that it was easier not to contact me and that they would no longer have any responsibility. I contacted Metabo again and was told they would sort it out for me. Soon afterwards I saw the area rep at a power tool show, I explained what had happened and he arranged a replacement for me.In short , I cant recommend Metabo tools highly enough, everyone at Metabo I have been in contact with have been brilliant. I would not buy anything from this company again though.

I did not know METABO is converting to a new chemistry for batteries.I am not prepared to invest in new tools, charger and batteries for pure marketing reasons. Most batteries come from China and the quality is not consistent for the industry as a whole.If the tool manufactures goes with a different chemistry I will have no choice but to make a switch. I suspect the quality on the old chemistry batteries will start to fail forcing a quicker end. My METABO drills I now consider an endangered species.
