Very good mount
Bought this for attaching an insta360 x3 to my gravel bike for cycling trips.Works brilliantly and is just enough height to get a decent picture all around, although the reverse angle is quite ‘up the nose’.Seems really well built, good mechanisms and nice knobs. It’s rock solid on the bars although there will be vibration through its length (plus the device). The insta stabilisation sorts that out.If there were any slight negatives:Could be more generous rubber in the clamp, it’s there but not over the whole surface, felt the need to add a piece of inner tube to protect my metal bars. The mount has to be closed quite far just to slip the locking bolt through - this just means it’s clamping diameter is less than it could be if they redesigned that part, but in the upside it also makes it incredibly secure.I deliberated about the jaw type one which was a few quid less and possibly more suited for general use, but I’m not sure you’d get the clamping force that this closed mechanism has. That said it may not clamp onto every part of the bike. All in all super pleased. Did 2-3 hours and was rock solid and very discreet too. The insta even removed it like a selfie stick and I can rotate down to my Garmin and read the screen!

SmallRig Bar mount
I wanted something that could be filled quickly and easily, and hold my GoPro in place securely. 10/10 the SmallRig works a treat. It feels so well made and is easy to use. It leaves on mark on the bare surface after I took it off.

Very solid!
This a one very solid and sturdy mount. I've put it on my eMTB and it's strong enough that I can lift the front of the bike up with it! Quite a clever 2-position mount which should deal with most handlebar diameters. If anything moves over rough terrain it likely won't be this mount.

Design seems flawed for a bike
This handlebar mount suffers one major design flaw, not shown by any of the products photos, and common across manufacturers. The arm with the ball heads attaches to the handlebar part via a small, shallow screw. When there is an action camera mounted (Insta 360 X3), my bike vibrates and that screw turns. Then you have your £500 camera spinning round loose on the mount, unscrewing itself (counter clockwise). The metal ball joints are SUPER secure. The bit that attaches to the handlebar doesn't work, for me.I applied Loctite screwlock to stop the screw spinning round loose. So, then the vibrations cause the screw threads to SNAP OFF, instead of unscrewing. Thankfully, I had the £500 camera in my hand at the time. I've now bought the Ulanzi mount, which differs by having a hex screw accessible via the top of the ball joint which you can tighten with a tool.Smallrig support proactively got in touch via Amazon to help me resolve this issue. Extra star for that.

Fiddly and prone to falling
I generally like Smallrig products, but I'm not too happy with this action camera mount. It does it's job but it's fiddly to get right, particularly to get the camera facing straight. As you tighten it up, the angle changes slightly so you have to take that into account before tightening. Also I find it falls unless you do it up VERY tight, and I mean tight enough to hurt your fingers, especially when it's cold out. When doing it up that tight though, it's sometimes impossible to loosen again for adjustment without hitting it with something. I think maybe the screw thread on the tightening bolt is too coarse and it could do with some dampening, maybe a rubber cushion of some sort, but I'm guessing. If I could return it I would but it's beyond the return time and I have used it successfully several times. So at a push I'd say it's good, perfectly usable, but you may end up wishing it was simpler and easier to adjust. I'd also like an option with a longer......whatever it's called, so I could mount my camera higher and have more angle options, but I don't recall seeing anything similar from Smallrig like that.
