Are these truly 77% cotton?  i've bought the champion double dry performance socks in recent years and they were much lighter weight and synthetic.

The socks I got last time appear to be like the socks I had bought before. They were what appeared to be and felt like a cotton sock, with elastic in the tops that is no doubt synthetic. I suppose that 77% is accurate, but I have no way of knowing. They are comfortable for me and last a reasonable length of time. A couple of cautions: First, I have seen reviews that criticize these socks for not being thick and cushion-y. If you want big thick socks, these are not for you. (My feet sweat too much for super-thick socks, so I don't get to enjoy the cushion effect.) Second, I had a heck of a time getting the right socks the last time. I returned multiple orders and used multiple sources before I finally got the right size. The problem was that Champion had made sizing changes, and the labeling was not consistent and clear. In my mind, that means "Double Dry Performance" COULD have more than one meaning, depending on when you bought them. My best advice: At this price, buy a half-dozen and see. Send them back if they aren't what you want. I finally got the right socks, and I'll buy them again when these wear out in a couple of years. I wear them every single day, year-round. Good luck!

Why does advertisement clearly say 12 pairs. Received package that says 6 pairs. Something clearly wrong.

I spoke directly with Hanes Brands that owns Champion. Per Jemma of Haines, Amazon is the one supplying the art work and text for the ads. 
The ad doesn’t come out directly and state 12 “Pairs” though, it’s implied that you’re getting 12 pairs, but it’s only 6 pairs if the ad copy has -12. 
I had a vendor refund half my purchase, but a second ignored my review and it still stands today. 
I was also disappointed in the thickness of the socks and how tight they were. I’ll be going to Walmart or one of the wholesale clubs next time.

One pack of socks..with 6 pairs inside. My husband loves champion and is a big fan of these..they lasted 1 yr so far..and still going!
