The Last Crusaders: The Hundred-Year Battle for the Center of the World

Long but worth the read.
If you liked watching Kingdom of Heaven or.The Tudors or The Borgias, and are someone who likes to read, odds are that you'll like this book. There is a lot of detail, so at times following all of the character lines is difficult, but there is a lot of good history that doesn't get covered by cinema or general history learnings. The insight into Islam/Ottoman history is very detailed (not expected), just as is the detail of the lineage of the courts of Spain and Portugal with some French sprinkled in (as expected).Watching the above shows could possibly help since it never hurts putting faces to characters in a book, but always keep in mind those are highly fictionalized.
