Q: What’s the protein content in this product?

12 %. I usually buy Oxbow Daily Nutrition food = the most important food., containing complete nutrition, a bag of mixed food like this, add regular dry oatmeal, Cheerios and perhaps Sunflower Seeds. I mix it all together in a medium size jar with a scoop. The gerbils have a small ceramic bowl I refill when empty. Sometimes I take it out and see what's left, usually Sunflower shells and that tiny round grain. My gerbils will look at me in the yes and hold onto the bowl when it is almost empty to remind me "REFILL, pleeeease." Some people say gerbils or hamsters don't eat the Oxbow: could be true, but I give them a tasty , mixed bowl and they eat it all.

Q: How long will this food last for

I have a gerbil and there is still plenty of food in the bag!!! I bought this same 2 lb bag about 2 weeks before Christmas and it doesn't even look like I've used any! It's a very healthy option and I definitely recommend it.

Q: Does this hamster food contain artificial colors? We are looking for something as natural as possible.

This product, "Vita Prima", does not contain any artificial colors. The simply "Vita" version in the 2.5 lb bag however does.
