My husband decided to hard wire our video doorbell as it needs charging every 10 days . But to be honest I wish he had left it with just the battery . Admittedly we now don't have to remove from holder ,bring indoors to charge , but the constant humming which during quiet times would give me a headache is so annoying . Fortunately it's in the hallway and I only hear it when I am going in or out , or going upstairs , otherwise I would unplug it and throw it at the people who sell it . I should have listened to all the reviews I read .

Purchased this for my front door bell. Seemed OK at first but after a few weeks I noticed how hot it was getting so I decided to unplug it as my brothers does not get hot, to my surprise it got so hot the plastic case came off in my hand when I tried to unplug the thing exposing all the bare electrics inside. Had my daughter touched it, instant electric shock. Awful design.

This doorbell transformer delivers 18v AC from a 230V mains input (not the 120V it says in the listing). It has a very long piece of bellwire attached, which has bare twisted ends rather than the spade terminals most video doorbells prefer.I'm using it for a Blink Boorbell and there's nothing wrong with it, but the fact the wire is integrated rather than attached to a connector of some sort means you can't run the wire so easily to your door as it must be threaded only from the plug end. All the same, for £9 there's nothing wrong with it and you'll probably get by!
