Great Product
I have used Cytomax products for years, the Sports Performance Drink mix works really well for me. I dissolves really well when added to water and tastes great. It has an outstanding balance that help me recover and hydrate well. I just wish they offered the full range of flavors that this product line offers.

Excellent price for LARGE tub of Cytomax
Cytomax really does what it says it will do: increase your ability to sustain exercise and reduce recovery. I cycle both road and off-road and cytomax is what i prefer in my water bottle. It works in a mild way (no jitters or let down) to lengthen the amount of time I ride before feeling tired, increase the length of time I can spend riding, and eases the aches after riding. I am middle aged woman with moderate fitness. If I notice this difference, I'm betting a fitter person will definitely notice performance improvements. It tastes GREAT and this price is excellent for the HUGE tub of powder (I used to pay $16 for half this size tin more than 15 years ago). Two large scoops in a standard cycling water bottle will give you good flavor and results, but you can go less if you like less flavor. You will need to shake the bottle a lot to mix. The power will cake over time if you don't use it or allow moisture/too much air, so keep it sealed up and dry.I LOVE this stuff and don't cardio without it. No side effects except better performance and less discomfort!

Fresh Apple it Isn't
The CytoSport energy drink is a helpful sports supplement. It does give a noticeable boost to help power through intense hour long cardio classes such as Spinning, Cardio Kickboxing and Zumba. There has been overall improvement in fitness, performance and an ability to increase workout frequency & time from using this supplement. It definitely helps in post workout recovery, little to no muscle soreness. Beats the muscle burn from Spinning and Kickboxing.I have previously used the Pomegranate flavored powder and it tastes more like 1980's Red Kool Aid punch than Pomegranate. The Fresh Apple flavored Cytomax is supposed to be a green apple flavor. Unfortunately, it tastes strongly of plastic with a hint of green apple. I would return it if I could. Also, if you use a sports bottle that holds 24 oz. count on using two scoops of the powder per bottle fill. The Cytomax works better if you drink a small amount 15 minutes before your workout, as directed.

Great but grainy.
Bought the large orange container when I started training for half marathon and marathon. I'm an amateur runner that does it purely as a hobby so I'm by no means a high-performance athlete. The flavor of the orange is pretty typical and refreshing when you're exercising. I do like that it's not as sweet and sugary as the big-named sport drink brands (I'm the type that waters down Gatorade and Powerade) . While it's purely anecdotal, when I drank it on my longer runs I found it very refreshing and I rarely ever cramped up (I ran up to three hours at a time). The only downside is that doesn't mix well at all. If I put a little warm water in first then dilute it with ice it seems to help, but if I left the drink to sit a few hours it'll separate every time.If I took it on the run with me it wasn't as bad because my body movement kept the liquid pretty well mixed. However if I cross trained and just mixed up a quick batch in cold water the mix would settle and stick to the bottom. Or if I mixed it up a batch and put in a lot of ice with the intention of drinking it in an hour hour or two into my run it would stick to the bottom and be hard to mix up.Personally, I feel more comfortable drinking this than something that's artificial so these little inconveniences were not too bothersome.

Works Well, But a Little Too Much Sugar?
I bike about 150-200 miles a week in warm conditionsPros: The added sugar allows you to not have to bring any gel packs with you.Cons: It is a little too sweet with too much sugar. I mix and freeze my bottles with a partial fill to ensure cold drinks on my rides. I use two bottles for a 50 mile ride. The first bottle is 50% frozen. The second bottle is 60% frozen. Before the ride, I top them off with water and add NUUN's to counteract all the sugar. It seems to be a working mixture for me.Another con about the orange flavored drink. There is way too much colorant in the drink. It stains the inside of your drink bottles and is almost impossible to remove the stains.
