Shockingly easy on plasterboard
I rent and want something to be as unobtrusive as possible -- I regret not trying Takker before putting two screws into a wall to hang a large framed canvas (40" x 60"). I received this today and was surprised that it's smaller than I expected, and seems like a basic plastic contraption. I'm not well experienced in DIY but was pleasantly surprised: I put up 3 plastic clocks and am impressed by the ease of use and how quick it is. The first "takk" in inserted was slightly off the 'x' I marked on the wall, but I quickly realized where it punches the hole and the other 2 were perfect. I have unframed canvases to put up and feel confident to use Takker. Unfortunately my pack did not come with any regular gold hooks, just all canvas hooks. I have a large mirror (32" x 45") that weighs about 8kg and I'll do more research before deciding whether attempting to use Takker -- I'm nervous about such a large piece of glass potentially falling. But for anything lighter, I won't hesitate to use Takker!

A Cause of Frustration and Bad Temper
Works well on plasterboard but pretty useless on anything even marginally tougher.Suffers from multiple double feeds and jams up virtually every other time you attempt to use it. Pins bend easily and only a small proportion resist the urge to fall out.Great idea but needs to go back to the drawing board.I would find it difficult to recommend this product but it has the advantage that should you lend it to a neighbour you can rely upon them returning it pretty quickly.I would really like to give this the thumbs up as I appreciate innovation but it is just too flawed.Progress report..After attempting, mostly unsuccessfully to hang five pictures the wretched device cried enough and would no longer even pretend to feed a pin to a position vaguely appropriate for being driven into a wall. I have given up and introduced it to my dustbin which represents a far better use of plastic.

Picture hanging made easy!
There is another, later version out now - designed for masonry - but this little tool is the business for indoor purposes!Very quick and easy to use, refills are available in hardware stores, and the optional "hangers" are reasonably priced. Ideal for putting up mirrors, photos, pictures, kitchen clocks etc. When you want to move the thing you've hung, the Takker has a little built-in removal tool and, once removed leaves hardly a trace. (Just a pinhole!) You can hang surprisingly heavy items - each pin can take up to 22lbs - though you'll need the accessories.Highly recommendedThe only negative? I tried several times to contact Takker Customer support with a technical query _ the never responded :(

Pins did not work at all on my plasterboard walls
The small Takker pins are far shorter than any other plasterboard fixing items I have used or even seen. When I put a medium size picture on the hook attached correctly to the pin, the pin simply pulled straight out. From my experience, does not do the job as claimed.

Not all I thought it would be.
Interesting little tool but I bought it thinking it would work on plastered walls. It says it can be used on plaster, plasterboard and wood. However there is a small print addendum to this that it won't work on plaster with a high cement content. How are we supposed to know that...unless the point just folds up like mine did? Should make this much clearer. Anyone want a cheap tool that might work on your walls if they have a low cement content?!

Great product for rubbish walls!
Always hated having Plasterboard walls, it's a nightmare trying to hang anything! This is great and has held up 2 canvasses and 2 multi picture frames so far, the latter being quite heavy and they've been up several weeks with no problems. The only problem you will have is finding refills, which is extremely frustrating!!

Replacement takkers.
Needed a replacement pack of the Takker nails, as I'd lost the spare nails I used to have! A brilliant bit of kit, had it for 5 + years and pictures etc still on wall. And when you need to move the pictures the nails are easy to remove and don't leave great holes in the wall. Brilliant.

So simple to use
I must admit to being sceptical about this product. However after seeing it in action it's brilliant. We have used it to hang a number of different size and weight pictures. It is simple to use and so far all the pictures and frames are still on the walls. Our house is a typical 1940's home with walls that can generally make a grown man cry when you mention hanging or drilling, it's built to last and normal picture hooks are no good as the flimsy nail bends at the first site of a hammer. This item is well up to the job and I have no problems recommending that you give it a go.
