I have used numerous name-brand seed trays and find that this seed germination kit is of better quality than all of them. The seed bays are deep, the plastic cover fits securely on the base, and there are channels molded into the base so that you can water the seeds properly and evenly from below to avoid molding and damping off from wet soil at the top. The adjustable vent helps with controlling the humidity until it's time to remove the covers.Overall the plastic is of a sturdier quality than all of the other products I've used in the past. The lids are strong enough that once the seeds have their first leaves I can take the lids off and place the entire unit on the lid to get them closer to the grow lights. The seller also includes a good number of plant labels and two useful "two-in-one" gardening tools.The seedlings in the photo are an early variety of Bok Choi and were planted two days before this photo was taken. Since then they have grown enough to be transplanted (because the seed bays are clear I could see the root development), and they have been joined by various other winter vegetables for my late fall garden. The seed bays held up to the transplant process, and are now prepped for more seeds. (There was no cracking, breaking, or permanent distortion of the plastic while I removed the seedlings.)I liked this germination kit so well that I ordered a second one.

I have a large seedling and plant growing area set up in the garage with potting bench, 3 plant stands, Mini Greenhouse, grow lights and heat mats. These trays are going to be used to grow Impatiens. The trays should help keep a consistent growing environment in a larger area than just using the 12 pack trays with lid. This set should provide 180 Impatiens plants for transplanting in the spring. They will sit on a converted over the toilet bamboo shelf. Wire shelfing and grow lights have been added to the bamboo shelf to support the use of heating mats. Small peat pots will be cut to fit the individual plastic cells for easy removal and prevent disturbing the roots. The small peat pots will aid in transplanting to larger peat pots, and further transplanting to a large flower bed. The trays came well packaged and protected in a box inside a box. The humidity circle rings snapped into the lids perfectly and securely for easy adjustment. The trays are a good product at a fair price. They will be perfect for consistent germination, care and growing conditions. I would purchase they trays again. Thank you for a great packaging job, NO DAMAGE.

This is a good set of seed starter trays and it was fun to plant some seeds and watch them grow, The lids have vents that can be opened or closed, I had never used anything like this before and there were no instructions or even helpful tips, which is the only reason I gave them four stars.

I'm using this to start seeds and so far it's working great. I like the rotatable vent at the top and it retains moisture really well. I also use this with a seed heating mat which is a great combination. Would recommend.

The media could not be loaded.  These appear sturdy— show no wear and tear and no cracking from our foulest year of use. They store away so nicely! We used at home and at preschool with great success!

The media could not be loaded.  Such a great seed starting system, identifying markers and a little scoop with a Doberman on the other end, and spade with a fork on the other end. The 12 cells have drainage holes and fit into trays to keep your window sill dry. The lids have holes on the top, you simply twist to open or close to regulate the heat and moisture inside. It’s like having 5 mini greenhouses.

I started my seeds in these a few weeks ago, and have a few more things to plant in the next month. Easy to assemble and use. I like that it's not a "throw away" item and can continued to be used. The compartments are the perfect size for starting plants. Happy to have found this item.

The kit contains everything you need to get a jump-start on your garden. The trays are easy to assemble and have a decent size area for soil. The humidity domes snap together easily and do a good job of retaining extra moisture. After 2 weeks, I got good germination for my tomatoes and my peppers are starting to pop up as well.Overall, this is a great starter kit for seeds.
