I have always used pink and/or white Zote bar in my recipe for homemade laundry detergent probably for 10 years. I knew there was a Blue Zote bar but wasn't able to find it. I always open the bars, cut them in thirds and let them dry for a few months to make them easier to grate.So, when these are dried and I need to make laundry detergent I will be so happy to try this out!My mother used to use "bluing" when doing laundry when I was a child (I'm 71) and she had a wringer washer! Start out with hot water, bleach and bluing for the white clothes, then the next loads were done in that same water till the end when she did Dad's work clothes and the rugs. Monday was wash day and it took all day to do. AND she hauled wet clean clothes out of the basement and outside to hand them.
