Martin Luther: The Idea that Changed the World DVD

I bought it for my mom. She loves it.

I used this in my history class. The Protestant Reformation is such a fascinating time, but there have been few good movies made about it that translate well to a classroom. This is a great movie about Luther. It is live action with a voice over that narrates some great stuff about Luther and the Reformation. Of particular interest was the fact that Luther's ideas tie him to both Hitler and the Puritans. Good stuff, I would recommend this video.

This was excellent. My Global 9 special education students really enjoyed this documentary. The video brings to life an era in history that is hard for the kids to relate to without it.

The production quality of this movie was rather good and the person portraying Martin Luther does a very commendable job of doing so. Interspersed throughout this movie we are treated to interesting factoids about Martin Luther and his time by noted experts and scholars. Their contributions are certainly edifying. If you don't have the time to read a biography about Martin Luther and would rather watch a video then I would most certainly recommend this one.

Getting to know and understand who Martin Luther was, and how his thoughts, actions and beliefs revolutionized the world then and now, was well put together and documented.

I loved this documentary. I already have another documentary about Martin Luther from PBS and this second one really takes the cake. I loved the period costumes that the actors wear and I learned that Martin Luther King Jr's and his father Matrin Luther King Sr took the Name "Martin Luther" from the protasant reformer and adopted it and made it there own. That is how inspirational the 16th century former German Monk really was. This documentary is a must have for any history buff.

This is my personal favorite of the Martin Luther videos. Beautiful cinematography and good actors. Not just for those who live Lutheran; a really good story (history), told well.

Born and raised in Germany, our education in Germany was very history oriented.So, seeing it on video was very interesting.I encourage anyone wanting to learn more about the Reformation to watch this.

I didn't know much about Martin Luther before watching the video. It does an excellent job of putting his life together in a logical sequence. Well worth the money.
