It's so easy to use. If it is too loose just pull the end a couple of clicks. When it arrives it is probably too long. Just be carefull not to cut it too short. Best to shorten it a bit at a time until it is just right.I need to get 2 or 3 more now to replace my other belts.

I’ve purchased a few of these ratchet belts over the years and I think they’ve really given a great deal of versatility in that you can mix and match belts to buckles being able to match and coordinate with clothing almost harking back to the early years when buckles were removable.I’d advise purchasing a belt that would be ever so slightly longer than your waistline to get the most from the belt , firstly in case your waistline spandex but also secondly to allow the belt to be cut back in case any of the plastic teeth accidentally strip like mine have on older belts. This was a mistake on my behalf when I had the belt right then bent over which stretched the belt, and instead of the belt on a traditional belt stripping the hole wider or tearing the fabric , these ratchet belts strip the teeth instead as they’re the weakest point.I should say this isn’t a failure of the belts design , more so me probably having the belt to right and then putting to much stress on it when bending down , however I was able to remedy it by cutting the belt shorter which allowed the mechanism to re-engage with fresh teeth in the belt giving me back full functionality albeit overall length slightly shorter but still wearable.So go for a slightly longer belt which will give you more freedom to keep using your belt in case it happens to you, that aside…. Generally these belts are very easy to use, very easy to swap buckles and belts, and with so much range they’re very affordable.Overall scoring I’d say a comfortable 9.5 / 10 .I’m reminded of belts where you could punch your own holes into the leather belt years ago if it was to big or to small , these ratchet belts are better purchased with your size in mind as there isn’t anyway to make them smaller as the plastic teeth on the belt only runs for a short distance and not the full length of the belt thus limiting size flexibility compared to older belts, but for me this isn’t a problem, and for the money these belts cost it’s not a deal breaker.These are fashionable casual dress belts, not a belt to wear if your doing a lot of manual labour or bending over a lot, for that a traditional belt is your best friend.Formal / casual formal these are perfect.
