Suggest more FLAT plain surface on the reverse side so that I can use double sided tape to fix firmly instead of using screws

Proper adhesive not provided. Only two way tape given.

Not as expected
Even after calculating as per the dimensions given it fell short by not covering the expected area, in short don't go by the dimensions given. Also, I didn't buy again the same one's for remaining area. The spiked ones are quiet large and works well. Now my balcony is free from pigeon menace. No star for adhesion since there wasn't any and I had to use cable ties.

poor quality product
The double sided sticker provided with the product doesn't have quality. The spikes came out from the sticker the very next day. After fixing the spikes again with a different brand double sided sticker I could manage a few more days, but pigeons started sitting on the spikes later. So the product is not good for long run.

Now the place is safe, but peagons started sitting on the railing. No doubt product is 100% usefull
