Great history on entrepreneurship of individuals working at DHL Express ...
A great read, lots of interesting anecdotes and little known "early days" facts - the belief and enthusiasm that all those early pioneers had in DHL Express - and the way it grew organically and all based on customer needs.

Tale of true business disrupter and pioneer who, like founders of Uber and Tesla, dared to go where no business had been before.
It is interesting to see the myriad of government and legal challenges that Mr Chung and the DHL team had to surmount, on a daily basis, setting up DHL International in every single new jurisdiction they tackled. This included Mr Chung being arrested by the police in Hong Kong and using an army of legal eagles to navigate government regulations that were trying to protect traditional and incumbent 'snail mail' post office services. On reading this book it is seems that Mr Chung and the DHL team were genuine disrupters and first in the line of many to follow such as the founders of Uber, Tesla and the gig economy, who have all faced similar daily challenges and survived by doggedly tackling each one and then moving onwards and upwards. Without Mr Chung's and the DHL team's tenacity and perseverance there would be no global courier service industry and a slower world economy.Mr Chung's service leadership and management philosophy that was honed during his establishment of DHL International is now guiding service professionals and companies to betterment of business around the world.

Changing the world of Business
Excellent book!! It tells the incredible story of DHL Express, it also provides lessons and guidance for all companies and the necessary elements of success – visionary leadership, persistence against adversity; an entrepreneurial culture; and the will to succeed. It shows how we changed the world of business.

A somewhat 'disappointing read'
Very much looking forward to the writings of Po Chung and David Bowie having spent some years with DHL myself based in Hong Kong. Alas it was a somewhat disappointing read. It lacked 'insight' of the people who were the drivers of DHL's growth from 'Startup to Global Upstart'. We learn very little in that respect with few anecdotes of the times that set the Can-Do Will-Do character of the company in the fast moving pace that ‘change’ demands when operating in some very difficult and trying situations as DHL people pioneered the way forward to develop a 'business model' that didn't exist in any way shape or form before DHL arrived in-country, country by country. 'By the seat of our pants' with 'dedication second to none' is the best way to describe how things were every step of the way as countries 'opened up', the business of 'delivery' developed and changed ‘daily’ - often 'overnight' - at a pace that was as exciting as it was demanding. This read lacks that 'sense of spirit' and doesn't do justice as to how most things ‘just got done' by whatever means necessary for the shipment to make it to the flight and be delivered the other end. Of course ‘times change’ and the way of doing business changes too but that ‘Can-Do Will-Do’ attitude is still the backbone of the DHL story as we know it today.
