No One Has to Know: Deal with the Devil

Spicy & captivating!
It has a lot of spice, language, and graphic language (just to prepare you!).I wasn't expecting the turn of events that concluded this story but it made it good. Definitely a dark romance.Found just a few typos/errors but I guess that happens when you write a hot story lol. Other than those minor things, very well written & captivating story.

Everyone has to know!!
Ok, so I almost DNF about half of the way through. It became a bit tedious and almost lost its spark (IMO at least).BUT I'm glad I kept reading!! The twist at the end! OOOOOO, man! I didn't see it coming and I definitely loved it!I'm rating it at 4 stars only because I was tempted to DNF early in the book. But I DO recommend reading it! It was actually a really great love story โค๏ธ

Dark, spicy bedroom fantasy
Mace is obsessed with Angela but decides to stay away to protect her. Then Angela is hurt by her mugger and the jealous rage he feels after she goes out with another man pushes him over the edge. So he takes her.No One Has to Know is the ultimate in fantasy role play. Mace is not a good man, but Angels isnโt always so good either. The story is more than a little nuts, but itโs fun and the ending is pretty satisfying. There are quite a few errors in the text, though, which detracted quite a bit from the story. It definitely didnโt feel like a final draft.

Big surprise
Ok, wowowow. The book, writing and characters was all fantastic. But, what really got me was the twist that I did not see coming at all! It's pretty rare that I can't predict what the twist will be, but this one had me completely surprised! Absolutely fantastic.

Who doesnโt like an obsessive stalker?
Angela left Fairview in the rearview mirror after the incident. All seemed quiet on the home front between traveling to and from her job as a florist and her apartment. What wasnโt planned was an obsessive stalker who just so happened to be the local police officer - Mason Burns.Mason Burns was obsessed the moment Angela handed him that flower. While his desires were kept at bay for the most part, it all came to a head when he thought he was possibly going to lose her. Or are things really as they seem? This book had me in a chokehold! I wasnโt expecting the twist at the end, at all! I was even a bit confused when trying to piece it all together. I still highly recommend reading this book! Just be aware of the TWs before reading. Happy reading!

Disappointing
You would think that I know better than to trust BookTok. However, me picking up No One Has to Know by Carin Hart proves I will never learn my lesson. Now, I know thatโs a bit unfair of me to say because I did pick up another book by Hart set in this same mob world (review of The Devilโs Bargain coming out next week) and I did like that other book. This one, however, was undone and ruined by the ending. What I saw on BookTok was that this would be a dark romance. I love dark romance (youโll see what I mean with upcoming reviews for the Pleasure & Prey series.) Iโm not, however, a big fan of dirty cop romance. That one was my bad for not realizing this would be that before picking it up. However, the two stars Iโm giving this isnโt based on my personal likes or dislikes. It has more to do with the problems of pacing, and as mentioned earlier, that ending.Characters, we have dirty cop Mason Burns who is obsessed with sweet florist Angela Havers. Neither is likeable. Mason says he loves Angela, but I never see it. There are plenty of stalker romances, bullymances, etc. where the MMC is deranged and treats the FMC badly, however we still see that there is love there in addition to obsession. Here, even with the dual POV, I never felt that. Characters felt incredibly flat and this might be the reason the relationship just never took off. Even the spice felt boring despite this being a โdark romance.โ Firearm barely in play for one part and the rest was boring, especially considering the โtwistโ at the end.Personally, I would not recommend No One Has To Know by Carin Hart. This is one side story that can absolutely be skipped. Instead, I would recommend readers try The Devilโs Bargain by Carin Hart instead because No One Has to Know does an injustice Hart as an author because she can do better and does.

Decent, but not my favorite
The plot had a lot of a potential, and I really enjoyed the MMC. The FMC was infuriating and the pace of the book was uncomfortable. It dragged until about 80% through and then Flipped so fast it gave me whiplash.

wow!
I really like this book. It was a quick read. And I am willing to read more from this author. I really like the writing style and the fact that the point of views were from his and her perspective.

read in one sitting
Knew from chapter 1 this was gonna be one of my fav reads this month. Such compelling writing and addictive characters. Dark and twisted, Iโm as obsessed with this book as much as the mmc is obsessed with his Angel

He's a Cop/ Anti-hero๐ผ She's a Florist/ Sweet girl๐ด๐ ๐น๐ฌ๐ฝ๐ฐ๐ฌ๐พ: ๐One word that best describes this book is - OBSESSION. As that's what is the theme of this book and trust me you will feel that feeling in the pulse of this book as you read each chapter and turn every page.Mason Burns is crazy Obsessed over the good girl who works as a florist, Angela Havers.Till now, Mason has kept his feelings to himself but always watches over Angela and ensures that she's safe, even going as far doing patrol on foot just to be ready to protect her if anything ever happens out of turn. He's content watching her from afar as he doesn't want his angel affected by his twisted tastes so he watches over her but keeps his distance while coming across as a cop doing his duty and trying to hide the fact that he's not stalking her constantly.Things take a turn when Burns finds Angela out with another man on a date and now he finds that his Angel has finally unleashed the beast inside him who would go to any lengths even it means taking his angel as captive and keeping her all to himself. The weird thing is he is a man who definitely has something missing in his head when it comes to following societal rules and morals when it comes to Angela yet I felt like that Ms. Hart wrote him in a way that I felt that man was deep down a good guy.Ughhh....or maybe I too have a twisted mind to believe it but Mason Burns was an interesting enigma that might use the wrong way to get to his destination yet when you peak inside him, you won't find malice.I felt for Angela though as she is suddenly thrown into unknown and possibly dangerous circumstances.Even though Burns takes her yet he does nothing but intend to bring her pleasure even if it means making absurd deals time and again.๐This book is twisted and dirty and hot in the way that Burns is heck bent on bringing Angela pleasure and his favourite thing involves tasting and ๐ her all the time. Oh my.... ๐ฅต๐ฅThat being said let me tell you there's a twist at the end that will leave you shocked. I so didn't see that coming and have to say I liked how Ms. Hart has turned the ending to a puzzle solved that will leave you wide-eyed with the jaw-dropping revelation at the end. ๐ฑCan't help it but Mason Burns can neither be ignored nor be denied for his crazy undeniable charm and his Obsessiveness and protectiveness that comes from a place where all he wants is his Angel to be safe and all his. โค๏ธโค๏ธ

Could use some editing
I liked the story but it could use some editing. Some sentences were incomplete and some words didnโt make sense almost like the author used autocorrect and it failed sometimes? And what really bugged me was the name of the mmc. He was called Burns throughout most of the book and it just reminded me of Mister Burns - the creepy old Simpsons character - way to much. The fact that the mmc was an officer for the Springfield PD made it worse. There was a nice little twist in the end that caught me by surprise (in a good way), the ending was a bit abrupt in my opinion.
