Loved the flavour combos in the rice, already ready to order more. The rice is extremely tasty, and super easy to make (no washing/soaking required) and automatically upgrades your meal. Instructions are clear, and it’s ready in 10 min. I could eat this anytime!

This one pot meal from Pakistan can be made in the microwave as well as on stovetop with the addition of 1 tablespoon butter or ghee per packet. Ingredients are basmati rice, salt, spices ( powdered cumin, black pepper, cloves, nutmeg, and mace), tomato powder, onion powder, sugar, flavoring, citric acid, silicon dioxide, and yellow 5. The box contains 2 packets of seasoning and 2 packets of rice incase you want to make half the contents. Although the ingredients list powdered spices, the seasoning packet contained whole cloves and peppercorns which I picked out. I cooked both sets of packets in about 20 minutes and it made enough for four or more! It is very spicy as in hot; make eyes water and nose run even though I diluted it with vegetables and some plain rice. When you get past the hot, the flavor isn’t over powering with any one spice and made a nice meal for 2 with lots leftover.

For times when you want delicious rice with almost zero effort, Shahzada is there. My husband and I loved the flavor of this rice -- warm, spicy and aromatic. The dish paired well with our Asian-spiced wings, but I think it would be just as good with curry, roasted vegetables or kebabs. I'm now curious to try the other flavors after having such a positive experience with this one.
