Mansfield Plumbing SB700 Elongated Slow, Soft Close Toilet Seat White

We replaced an older toilet seat with a new one that turned out to be just a little too small for the toilet--an oval, but a smaller oval--so that it seemed sunk down into the toilet in a disconcerting way. I looked at a lot of replacements online, and read all the reviews, and decided that I needed to find a toilet seat that is made for the Mansfield toilet. This one came in two days, and we have just installed it. It's an easy install, and it fits perfectly.

No matter how much you attempt to tighten this seat it's going to move about 3/8" when someone sits on it.I probably should've given it a 1/2 star if that was possible. I don't recommend this seat. 10/25/2023.

This “SmartClose” toilet seat purchases main objective was to eliminate the toilet seat wobble and it did. It has four flat bumpers that fit firmly and stably on the porcelain rim of my Mansfield toilet. The universal ones you purchase at stores are all wrapped and you can’t see what the bumpers on the bottom side of the seat look like. This was the problem with my old one. They had rounded edges that didn’t sit on the bowl rim well, causing the whole seat to shift and cracked the plastic mounting hinge. It was the seat price, was just over $50, and the anticipation of having to wait 4-5 weeks for it to ship, that had me thinking “SmartClose” was different than “soft close”. I thought the seat would slowly close by itself if someone would forget to close it, which seemed like a really practical option to me, worth the extra cost. Unfortunately that’s not what “SmartClose” meant. It would only be useful for people with small children as a safety feature so the seat and lid wouldn’t come down hard on them while potty training. Not worth the extra price, very disappointed.

Sadly the seat would not stay up. Installed and re installed. For the price I paid I was disappointed. Returned it for refund.

The media could not be loaded.  We have only had this toilet seat for 90 days and it no longer has the soft close! Very disappointed. Definitely DO NOT recommend this product.

We bought this seat because it was made by the manufacture of our toilet. The original toilet seat lasted many years and was very sturdy. It always stayed in place and with the lid down you could sit on it with no issues. This new seat has the slow close function which is nice. The new seat however is nothing like the original. The new seat shifts at times when you sit down, it also makes a cracking sound if you don't set down just right. As for sitting on it with the lid down, you can do that but it sound like you are breaking it when you sit down. ALL IN ALL, IT SEEMS CHEAP COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL TOILET SEAT. IF I WERE DOING IT AGAIN I WOULD LOOK FOR A SOLID WOOD SEAT AND IF NEED BE FORGET THE SLOW CLOSE FUNCTION.
