To repair a clock that we had for many many years.

The product is fine. What I cannot understand is why the manufacturers of these items cannot stamp into the back an part number that would identify all salient features such as spindle length, clock face depth, if it has a second hand, etc. It would then be far easier to order a replacement by simply quoting the part number rather than trying to assess the suitability of an item from a description that may not be specific enough. Can UTS or any other manufacturer give any reason why it is not or cannot be done?

Good unit, used to revive a favourite clock. Slight differences to the original, but does the job perfectly.
