C.K 430028 Modular Plugs 2 Ratchet Crimping Plier

A pretty good Crimping plier, which is robust, fits well in the hand and is comfortable. That said you should use this device in conjunction with Side Cutting Pliers. The later device will help you 'clean away' sheaths of shielding material as well as helping to cut through the cable and save wear on the Crimping blade. Now the Crimping plier can do some of the work, however, it is not as well suited to the task as the Side Cutters are, and these are easier to manipulate in the long run. What I have just said should not be taken as a negative about the Crimping plier, or even this particular device - it is just the best way to go about changing boots/plugs.

I have crimped 43 terminations and this product has failed. The crimp in the 8P slot still works but the cutter release will not fix in place. Not the most expensive but by no means the cheapest. My CK wire cutter failed last month too, NEVER again CK.

Purchased to replace a set of Maplin crimpers that I borrowed, these are much better and as all pins align stright. Ratchet function means that you know when the right pressure has been applied which is useful. Compared these to a visitors yellow FLUKE ones that cost £63 and exactly the same.

Had these round a week, I bought them to replace a Maplins crimp I had used for years. They worked fine at first but now the cable cutting blade has stopped working. This means now I will have to use a set of side cutters as well as the crimp to fit cable ends.....

Excellent pair of crimpers , they work every time , not had any fails yet unlike a cheaper pair I used to have , very prompt service too
