I love these molds - but I will say be careful the resin get into every crack, especially the pawns. The first time I made one the top of the pawns weren't there because the resin didn't travel that far down. Some also came out broken at the top due to air bubbles so be careful. Some were also hard getting out of the mold, I had to have my husband help me. Overall, loved these molds.

These molds (all molds) should come with a warning lol. I'm new to the 2 part resin stuff so my knowledge is severely lacking, or was. Make sure you get the resin ALL the way to the bottom and make sure there aren't any air gaps! Took me 3 or 4 times to make one set. Strictly user error obviously. Make sure you stretch out the molds like you would a balloon first.On the bright side? All of those attempts and not one of those buggers tore! Definitely sturdy.

I have used these types of molds for a while and I was highly disappointed when the pieces came out with a matte finish over the glossy finish on the pieces. If you look at the pieces on the right you will see that they do not have the glossy finish. It’s an issue because I wasted the resin in order to make a set of pieces that match in their shine. Now I have mismatched pieces because of this. If you look at theOrder page the examples are glossy, as you can see, they don’t come out that way. I looked into the mold and they have a dull finish. They turn out as expected and they are heavy enough so they don’t tear easily when de-molding. Sorry but not very happy with the product as advertised. You should tell your customers that they are not going to come out with any shine.Follow Up: So Customer service contacted me and actually offered me a refund. I used the refund to buy another set, that way I would have chess sets that matched in regards to glossiness. Great customer service and happy to make a purchase again.

Love these chess piece molds! They stand up straight on their own and are nice and strong… all of them were easy to demold with the exception of the King and Queen… they get stuck at the middle where this lip is… I found that if I rolled the mold down instead of just trying to pull the piece out, and used some WD40 as a lubricant, they would pop right out! I made a set using UV Resin… I hate waiting 24 hours for things to cure when they are this size,,,I cured them in layers as well… except the pawn, I could fill them up and cure them all at Once… took about 45 minutes total time to cure everything properly using the uv resin …. I also made a set with 4 hour demold Resin when I cured up a checker/chess board… that way I had two complete sets of pieces to go with the board,,, the board was the same brand as the pieces I’m reviewing now… over all, these chess pieces are excellent … they are sturdy, easy to demold, and did not warp out of shape demolding them… I am going to order another set so that I have two complete sets and some extras since I got one set with the board mold… Highly recommend!!!

These will turn out matte. So if your wanting shinny ones I would purchase elsewhere.

They work really well, just remember to squeeze the mold to release air bubbles for allowing resin to cure.My only complaint is that the description did not state that the pieces would have a matte finish, and not a shiny finish. That is really disappointing.

This is exactly what we were looking for

This was not a good mold. I was unable to get the apoxy out once it cured. I had to cut the mold.I only got to use it the one time.
