great start
Kailey is an FBI graduate who has been hand-picked along with her friend and partner, Shinto to teach a special course at a local college. They’re a unique duo with an interesting dynamic. Their ability to balance out each other is quite remarkable. The witty banter makes them relatable. It's also what makes them ideal for teaching such a class. It’s during those classes they meet Junior, who has a background that is checkered due to past decisions. When his life hangs in the balance because he gets mixed up in more of the wrong stuff, it's’ up to the duo to find out the truth and bring justice. This is a pretty good book that keeps you engrossed in the overall storyline. I also found myself wanting to jump into the scenarios with them to help them solve the mystery. Which is a great testament to how the author wrote the book. A fantastic mix of action, witty banter, what the heck moments, and good old-fashioned humor. I look forward to more!

Fun page-turner!
Hight's characters are relatable and three-dimensional. You'll be rooting for them by the end of chapter one and won't be able to put the book down until you reach the end!

Two tough female cops work to squelch crime in the gritty backdrop of oil-rich Midland, Texas.
Couldn't put the book down. Author knows her stuff!Good characters, descriptions and story-line.Steamy scenes work well to momentarily divert the reader. The Kailey and Shinto duo are good characters, but Junior Alvarez is the most complete and interesting character. You can't stop pulling for him regardless of his bad-boy tendencies.
