Yes it's not waterproof (or water resistent to any extent) but then it doesn't claim to be. You could make it much more resistant by washing it in Nikwax or similar and I intend to do that at some point, but to be honest I have other jackets specifically for wet weather so it would only be useful strategy if perhaps caught out in an unexpected shower. On the plus side it is very warm, has loads of pockets for dog walking stuff, and has a hood for extra protection against a cold wind. Zip has stood up well (a common failing with cheap clothes) and overall has been a very useful purchase which I use daily (except when it's raining...)

So, it's all perfectly made, comfy and warm, hoode could be different design, but still does the work
