Great Description of small town life
As you read outstanding descriptions of small town life and wait for tension to build, to identify the big theme hurtling at you, overcoming your senses, ready to change how you think and perceive of the world, you will suddenly discover you finished this book. I wanted to put it down a couple times, but persisted in searching for the exciting earth-changing theme. The message, presented throughout the book is that where ever you go you are in a small town goldfish bowl. Even in less personal big cities people crave for the triableness presented by their church socials, political meetings, sport clubs etc. It is all the same worldwide. Just that the scale in big cities is different, harder to find, than in small rural towns. Yet the hopes, dreams and aspirations exist everywhere. Those who stand out take advantage of opportunities. Others are the definition of happiness as they are content with what they have.
